Provided is a three-dimensional (3D) transmon qubit apparatus including a body portion, a driver, a transmon element disposed in an internal space of the body portion, a first tunable cavity module disposed in the internal space of the body, and comprising a first superconductive metal panel; and a second tunable cavity module disposed in the internal space of the body, and comprising a second superconductive metal panel, wherein the transmon element is disposed between the first superconductive metal panel and the second superconductive metal panel; wherein the first tunable cavity module and the second tunable cavity module are configured to adjust a distance between the first superconductive metal panel and the second superconductive metal panel, and wherein the driver is configured to tune a resonance frequency by adjusting a 3D cavity by adjusting the distance between the first superconductive metal panel and the second superconductive metal panel.

Impedance tuners with linear actuators

The accuracy of an impedance tuner may be improved and the size may be reduced by using linear actuators instead of rotary motors. The linear actuator may be integrated with position sensors to allow very small size, and implemented with a servo system for best accuracy and speed. Spring loaded arms holding the mismatch probes allow the tuner to operate in any orientation to further fit into small spaces. The small size reduces losses by allowing direct connection to wafer probes for on-wafer measurement systems.

A slide screw tuner control mechanism uses linear actuator movement with numerically controlled PITCH (number of threads per inch). The PITCH is adjustable using the concept of a differential screw, implemented by independent control of the rotation of the actuator built-in ACME screw, yielding a numerically controllable overall effective PITCH. Tuner calibration and tuning can use dynamically adjustable horizontal movement increments increasing tuning speed at low frequencies without loss of fine-tuning resolution at high frequencies.

A single mode cavity filter having at least three rectangular or elliptical resonant cavities and at least four coupling irises aligned along a straight axis is disclosed. The filter is configured to be tuned by way of an electro-mechanical device. The filter has tuning rods located in each of the cavities and configured to change, in use, the tuning of the filter. The tuning rods are aligned along an arcuate axis and the electro-mechanical device is configured to move the tuning rods according to an identical depth by way of a single motor in the electro-mechanical device.

Tunable filter and tunable filtering device

Embodiments of the present invention provide a tunable filter and a tunable filtering device. The tunable filter includes: a cavity, a filtering component that is in the cavity and that is provided on a first surface thereof with at least one through hole, a drive mechanism, and at least one first adjustable component and at least one second adjustable component that are connected to the drive mechanism and that run through the first surface of the cavity; one end of one first adjustable component is disposed opposite to one of the at least one through hole; one end of one second adjustable component is disposed opposite to a position between two adjacent through holes in the at least one through hole; and the drive mechanism controls the at least one first adjustable component to synchronously move, and controls the at least one second adjustable component to synchronously move.
