Analog-to-digital converting device and control system
An analog-to-digital converting device includes: a main analog-to-digital converter configured to convert an analog signal output from a sensor to a digital signal; and a monitoring unit configured to monitor the digital signal converted by the main analog-to-digital converter. The main analog-to-digital converter is provided by a special purpose IC arranged separately from a microcomputer for controlling the main analog-to-digital converter. The monitoring unit includes multiple sub analog-to-digital converters each of which having a conversion accuracy lower than that of the main analog-to-digital converter and converting the analog signal output from the sensor to a digital signal. The monitoring unit sets a predetermined threshold based on conversion values of the digital signals converted by the multiple sub analog-to-digital converters, and compares a conversion value of the digital signal converted by the main analog-to-digital converter with the predetermined threshold.

An input stage for an analog/digital converter, an analog/digital converter and a method for testing analog/digital converters with successive approximation are disclosed. At an input stage, an input signal is supplied via a first transistor arrangement of a sampling capacitor arrangement. The sampling capacitor arrangement can be optionally connected to ground or to a reference voltage by way of a second transistor arrangement and a switch apparatus.
Root monitoring on an FPGA using satellite ADCs
Systems and methods for monitoring a number of operating conditions of a programmable device are disclosed. In some implementations, the system may include a root monitor including circuitry configured to generate a reference voltage, a plurality of sensors and satellite monitors distributed across the programmable device, and a interconnect system coupled to the root monitor and to each of the plurality of satellite monitors. Each of the satellite monitors may be in a vicinity of and coupled to a corresponding one of the plurality of sensors via a local interconnect. The interconnect system may include one or more analog channels configured to distribute the reference voltage to each of the plurality of satellite monitors, and may include one or more digital channels configured to selectively route digital data from each of the plurality of satellite monitors to the root monitor as data packets.
DIAGNOSTIC CIRCUITS AND METHODS FOR ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTERS
Apparatus includes an ADC configured to convert an analog signal to a digital signal, a comparator having a first input responsive to the analog signal, a second input responsive to the digital signal, and an output at which a comparison signal is provided, and an output checker configured to process the comparison signal to generate a fault signal indicative of whether a fault has occurred in the ADC. The comparator can be an analog comparator in which case the digital signal is converted to an analog signal for the comparison or a digital comparator in which case an additional ADC is provided to convert the analog signal into a digital signal for the comparison. Embodiments include more than one ADC in which case summation elements are provided to sum the analog signals and the digital signals for the comparison.

Digital-to-analog conversion apparatus and method having signal calibration mechanism
The present invention discloses a DAC method having signal calibration mechanism. A first conversion circuit generates a first analog signal according to an input digital signal. A second conversion circuit generates a second analog signal according to the input digital signal and a pseudo-noise digital signal. An echo transmission circuit processes a signal on an echo path to generate an echo signal. A first and a second calibration circuits generate a first and a second calibration signals. A calibration parameter calculation circuit performs calculation according to a difference between the echo signal and a sum of the first and the second calibration signals and related path information to generate a first and a second offsets. The first and the second calibration circuits converge first and second response coefficients and update a first and a second codeword offset tables according to the first and the second offsets.

The second output terminal is configured to generate a second output signal and to send the second output signal to the second input terminal of the comparator. The first output signal and the second output signal are correlated.
Apparatuses involving calibration of input offset voltage and signal delay of circuits and methods thereof
An example apparatus includes a circuit and calibration circuitry. The circuit has complementary input ports to receive input signals including a monotonously rising and/or falling wave reference signal and a voltage-test signal to test at least one direct current (DC) voltage associated with the circuit by comparing the input signals using a first polarity and second polarity associated with the circuit to produce a first output signal and a second output signal. During operation, the circuit manifests an input voltage offset and a signal delay with each comparison of the input signals. The calibration circuitry processes the first and second output signals and, in response, calibrates or sets an adjustment for at least one signal path associated with the circuit in order to account for the input offset voltage and signal delay during normal operation of the circuit.
