Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for deriving cell reference location in a wireless communication system. A method for a UE in the wireless communication system can comprise receiving information of a first reference location of a cell, receiving an assistance information associated with the cell, deriving and/or acquiring a second reference location of the cell based on at least the assistance information, and using the second reference location of the cell to evaluate a location-based event or measurement.

Downlink control channel design and signaling for beamformed systems

Transmit and/or receive beamforming may be applied to the control channel transmission/reception, e.g., in mmW access link system design. Techniques to identify candidate control channel beams and/or their location in the subframe structure may provide for efficient WTRU operation. A framework for beam formed control channel design may support varying capabilities of mBs and/or WTRUs, and/or may support time and/or spatial domain multiplexing of control channel beams. For a multi-beam system, modifications to reference signal design may discover, identify, measure, and/or decode a control channel beam. Techniques may mitigate inter-beam interference. WTRU monitoring may consider beam search space, perhaps in addition to time and/or frequency search space. Enhancements to downlink control channel may support scheduling narrow data beams. Scheduling techniques may achieve high resource utilization, e.g., perhaps when large bandwidths are available and/or WTRUs may be spatially distributed.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

An apparatus for wireless communication includes a classification unit and an allocation unit. The classification unit classifies communication devices in a cell where the apparatus is located, the communication devices are classified into a plurality of communication device groups including a first communication device group and a second communication device group. The allocation unit allocates pilot frequency sequences in a first pilot frequency group to the first communication device group, and allocates pilot frequency sequences in a second pilot frequency group to the second communication device group. When the number of the pilot frequency sequences is insufficient, a multiplexing configuration is executed, such as communication devices in the second communication device group multiplex at least one pilot frequency sequence in the second pilot frequency group.

Long training field (LTF) in distributed transmission

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to LTF designs that support distributed transmissions. In some aspects, a transmitting device may obtain a sequence of values representing an LTF of a PPDU and may map the sequence of values to a number (N) of noncontiguous subcarrier indices of a plurality of subcarrier indices spanning a wireless channel according to a distributed tone plan. In some implementations, the transmitting device may modulate the sequence of values on N tones, representing a logical RU, and map the N tones to the N noncontiguous subcarrier indices, respectively. In some other implementations, the sequence of values may be obtained based on relative locations of the N noncontiguous subcarrier indices in the wireless channel.

Narrowband positioning reference signal generation for correlation properties

Systems and methods for configuring and generating Narrowband Positioning Reference Signals (NPRS) for NB-IoT are provided. A network node provides (NPRS) configuration information indicating a system frame number (SFN) dependent resource mapping. A wireless device obtains a NPRS in accordance with the indicated SFN dependent resource mapping and uses it to perform a radio measurement operation.

METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING POWER HEADROOM, TERMINAL DEVICE, AND NETWORK DEVICE

A method for transmitting a power headroom, a terminal device, and a network device are provided. The method includes: sending a power headroom PH value of a serving cell to a network device, where the PH value is a first PH value of a first sounding reference signal SRS and/or a second PH value of a second SRS; and the first PH value is obtained based on first configuration information of the first SRS, the first SRS is an SRS used for positioning, and the second SRS is an SRS used for measurement.

Method for performing channel sounding between terminals, network side device, and terminal

Embodiments relate to the field of wireless communication technologies and provide a method for performing channel sounding, a network-side device, and a terminal. A first terminal sends a resource scheduling request to a network-side device when the first terminal starts a communication connection with a second terminal. The resource scheduling request carrying information about the second terminal requests the network-side device to allocate a transmission resource for channel sounding between the first terminal and the second terminal. The first terminal receives a sounding reference signal sent by the second terminal, and obtains information of a channel for communication between the first terminal and the second terminal. The method enables quick and effective channel sounding between terminals, thereby increasing communication efficiency between the terminals.

RELATIVE POSITIONING METHOD, TERMINAL, AND BASE STATION

A relative positioning method is provided. In one example, the relative positioning method is performed by a base station, and the base station sends measurement configuration information, in which a resource selection scheme for a first terminal to measure a relative position between the first terminal and a second terminal is determined based on the measurement configuration information.
