TELEPHONY WEB EVENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
20180013895 · 2018-01-11 ·

An embodiment of the system for publishing events of a telephony application to a client includes a call router that generates events from the telephony application and an event router that manages the publication of events generated by the call router and that manages the subscription to events by clients. The system can be used with a telephony application that interfaces with a telephony device and an application server

COMMUNICATION USING VIRTUAL NUMBERS

Examples disclosed herein involve receiving a request from a calling device to establish a communication session between a mobile device and the calling device, the mobile device assigned a virtual telephone number, retrieving location information corresponding to a location of the mobile device from a location register, and sending a redirect to a session border controller (SBC) to establish the communication session between the calling device and the mobile device based on the location information.

NETWORK SERVICES DEPENDENT ON GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTRAINTS
20230007437 · 2023-01-05 ·

A method and system are disclosed for determining the geographic location of a user communicating on a communications network such as the Internet. In one embodiment, a provider of a product or service: (a) receives the user's phone number (or other identification for contacting the user's station), and (b) supplies the user's station with a distinctive identifier. The provider then supplies a location determining service with the user's phone number (or other identification). A phone call is made to the phone number by the location determining service for retrieving the distinctive identifier from the network station having the phone number. If the distinctive identifier is retrieved and the location determining service determines that the user's station is within an appropriate geographical area (or not within an inappropriate area), then the provider can provide the requested product or service to the user.

Method and apparatus for managing user plane operation in wireless communication system

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments herein achieve a UE for managing a user plane operation in a wireless communication system. The UE includes a user plane management unit coupled to a memory and a processor. The user plane management unit is configured to receive a signaling message from a gNodeB. Further, the user plane management unit is configured to determine whether the signaling message includes control information comprising one of a PDCP re-establish indication and a security key change indication. Further, the user plane management unit is configured to perform the at least one operation for at least one data radio bearer based on the determination.

Managing selection and triggering of applications on a card computing device

A card computing device may include and manage multiple virtualized universal integrated circuit cards (UICCs) for use with mobile communications. The card computing device may be capable of storing information, and executing applications, for multiple mobile networks (e.g., using multiple virtual UICCs) and of managing switches among those mobile networks. A mobile network operator (MNO) may be represented by a MNO profile, which, when enabled, may look and behave like a dedicated UICC. One or more applications may be deployed on the card computing device and each may be associated with a MNO profile. When a MNO profile is enabled, one or more applications may be activated and when a MNO profile is disabled, one or more active applications may be deactivated, according to some embodiments. Thus, a card computing device may be configured to activate and deactivate applications as part of managing MNO profiles.
