The present disclosure relates to providing user information. In a method for requesting user information of an information requesting device in a mobile communication system, the method includes selecting a callee from a user, acquiring a user identifier (ID) of the selected callee, transmitting a user information request for the selected callee and the user ID to a relay server, evaluating whether an admission message is received from the relay server, and if the admission message is received, receiving user information from the relay server.

The present disclosure relates to providing user information. A telephone advertisement system acquires, in response to receiving a telephone talk request from a caller to a callee, callee information indicating a callee from a caller terminal device of the caller. The telephone advertisement system acquires, based on the acquired callee information, advertisement content associated with a condition corresponding to an attribute of the callee among a plurality of pieces of advertisement content, each of the plurality of piece of advertisement content associated with a condition of a person to whom respective advertisement content is presented, the condition of the person stored in a predetermined storage. The telephone advertisement system transmits the acquired advertisement content to the caller terminal device to cause the caller terminal device to present the advertisement content within an invitation period during which the callee is being invited to answer an incoming call.

A method and system are disclosed for determining the geographic location of a user communicating on a communications network such as the Internet. In one embodiment, a provider of a product or service: (a) receives the user's phone number (or other identification for contacting the user's station), and (b) supplies the user's station with a distinctive identifier. The provider then supplies a location determining service with the user's phone number (or other identification). A phone call is made to the phone number by the location determining service for retrieving the distinctive identifier from the network station having the phone number. If the distinctive identifier is retrieved and the location determining service determines that the user's station is within an appropriate geographical area (or not within an inappropriate area), then the provider can provide the requested product or service to the user.

A method and apparatus for providing assistance to customers seeking assistance from agents of an enterprise is disclosed. The method includes receiving a signal indicating the caller's wish to speak with a live agent associated with the enterprise to seek the assistance from the live agent. In response to a receipt of the signal, it is determined whether at least one live agent from among a plurality of live agents associated with the enterprise is available for a voice interaction with the caller. Subsequent to determining that no live agent from among the plurality of live agents is currently available for the voice interaction with the caller, the caller is diverted to an asynchronous messaging channel. A textual messaging-based interaction is facilitated between a messaging agent and the caller on the asynchronous messaging channel to provide the assistance to the caller.

A system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for referring contacts to receive text message alerts. An accounts module receives first user data including an indicator that a first user requested to subscribe to receive text messages alerts. The account module adds, based at least on the received first user data, a first user account to a database of subscribers. A message generator module generates, using the processor in response to receiving the first user data, a first text message corresponding to an offer to subscribe to receive text message alerts. A communication module transmits to the first user the first text message corresponding to the offer to subscribe to receive text message alerts. The transmitted first text message can be forwarded to a second user.

A client device detects a QR code (or NFC tag). The client device decodes the QR code. The client device determines that the data encoded within the QR code includes a URL. Based on the URL, the client device sends a first request to a first server identified by the URL. In response to the first request, the client device receives from the first server data configured to cause the client device to display, to a user of the client device, at least one of: a video or an interactive web page. According to an example implementation, a method may include transmitting, by a user device to a base station in a wireless network, a system information request for on-demand system information during a random access procedure, where the system information request is a request for one or more parameters that enable the user device to communicate in the wireless network, receiving, by the user device from the base station, an indication of a wait period in which the user device waits before obtaining the on-demand system information, waiting, by the user device, a time duration during the wait period, and monitoring, by the user device after expiration of the wait period, a system information window in which a system information message having the on-demand system information is broadcasted by the base station.
