Call routing using call forwarding options in telephony networks
In some embodiments, a method receives a call from a caller device that is initiated via a first communication channel and directed to first contact information for a recipient's device. The call is forwarded using a call forwarding option to the computing device. Second contact information for the recipient's device is retrieved where the second contact information different from the first contact information used in the call. The method initiates a communication to the recipient's device using the second contact information via a second communication channel that is different from the first communication channel. The communication avoids triggering the call forwarding option for the recipient's device. The call is connected between the caller device and the recipient's device upon initiating the communication where the computing device is in a call path of the call and performs a call feature for the call.

Call routing using call forwarding options in telephony networks
In one embodiment, a device receives a call from a caller that is initiated as a public switched telephone network (PSTN) call and directed to first contact information for a recipient's device. The call is forwarded using an unconditional call forwarding option to the device. The device retrieves second contact information for the recipient's user device. The second contact information is different from the first contact information used in the PSTN call. The device initiates a communication to the recipient's user device using the second contact information via a communication channel different from the PSTN. The communication avoids triggering the unconditional call forwarding option for the recipient's device. The device connects the call between the caller and the recipient's device upon initiating the communication. The device is in a call path of the call and performs a call feature for the call.

Method for redirecting a call to at least one message deposit server
The present invention relates to a method for redirecting a call to at least one message deposit server chosen beforehand, when a call being set up is being transferred from a first terminal to a second terminal, the transfer being carried out by means of a first signaling message containing a value representative of a number of transfers of the call, referred to as the forwarding field, the method being such that it includes the steps of: assigning to the forwarding field of the first signaling message a first value greater than or equal to a threshold, the threshold corresponding to a value starting from which the transfer of a call is not allowed by the network; transmitting the first signaling message to the second terminal; and upon receiving a message indicating a failure to set up the call with the second terminal in response to the first signaling message, assigning to the forwarding field of a second signaling message a second value less than the threshold; and transmitting the second signaling message to the at least one chosen deposit server. The invention also relates to a server and a terminal comprising a device suitable for implementing the method according to the invention.
Avoiding formation of a call loop resulting from handling of a mobile terminated call in parallel with a location update in a wireless communication network
A call loop avoidance capability is provided for preventing formation of a call loop resulting from handling of a mobile terminated (MT) call in parallel with a location update for a mobile device (MD) in a wireless communication network. The call loop avoidance capability prevents formation of a call loop between an old mobility and call management entity (MCME) and a new MCME when delivery of an MT call to an MD is performed while the MD is in the process of moving from the old MCME to the new MCME using a location update procedure. An enhanced call routing procedure supports direct delivery of the MT call from the new MCME to the MD (rather than delivery of the MT call by the new MCME to the MD via the old MCME) in order to prevent formation of a call loop between the old MCME and the new MCME.
Prevention of call loops for wholesale VoIP traffic termination
A method, system, and computer program product for providing call loop detection and prevention for VoIP SIP based wholesale traffic termination when multiple carriers are involved in handling the same phone call is provided. A method of detecting a call loop includes receiving an originated call, determining whether an origination number of the originated call is a valid phone number, when the origination phone number is invalid, determining a number of calls in a Provisional State with an invalid origination number and the same destination number that were started during a time interval, when the origination phone number is valid, determining a number of calls with the same origination number and the same destination number that were started, but not answered, during the time interval, and when the number of calls per time interval exceeds a threshold for the number of calls, determining that a call loop has been detected.
