Techniques for conducting a virtual event are described. One example method includes displaying, on a display screen of a computing device, a plurality of icons, each icon representing a different virtual event participant, wherein the plurality of icons includes a first icon representing a virtual event participant associated with the computing device; receiving, from an input device of the computing device, input representing a direction of movement for the first icon; and in response to receiving the input, moving the first icon on the display screen in the direction represented by the input.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING AUDIO CONFERENCING SERVICES
20230169991 · 2023-06-01 ·

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for improving audio conferencing services. One aspect relates to processing audio content of a conference. A first audio signal is received from a first conference participant, and a start and an end of a first utterance by the first conference participant are detected from the first audio signal. A second audio signal is received from a second conference participant, and a start and an end of a second utterance by the second conference participant is detected from the second audio signal. The second conference participant is provided with at least a portion of the first utterance, wherein at least one of start time, start point, and duration is determined based at least in part on the start, end, or both, of the second utterance.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING DATA PRODUCED IN A CONFERENCE
20170317843 · 2017-11-02 ·

A method for providing data produced in a conference, in which voice signals from participants in the conference are mixed in a conference bridge, can include provision of a time base that runs concurrently over the duration of the conference and setup of automatic identification of each participant when this participant speaks in the conference. The method also comprises capture of conversation contribution by each speaking participant to a conversation by the participants which is conducted during the conference as speaking time associated with each speaking participant at the conference, association of a time stamp with the speaking time, and production of statistical data by virtue of statistical evaluation of the speaking times of the participants.

Method and apparatus for identifying a speaker
09800731 · 2017-10-24 · ·

Systems and methods for identifying a participant providing audible information during a communication session are disclosed. More particularly, speech localization is utilized to determine a location of the participant providing audible information. An identification device determined to be at a location corresponding to the location of the participant providing audible information is identified. The identity of the participant providing the audible information is then obtained by mapping the identification device to the participant. The information identifying the participant providing audible information can be provided to other endpoints of the communication session.

METHOD OF CONTROLLING A REAL-TIME CONFERENCE SESSION

In a method of controlling a real-time conference session there is a first user and a second user connected to a media processing unit. The first user has a passive mode wherein data is received at and transmitted by the first user's communication terminal as passive data but not received by the communication terminal of the second user and an active mode wherein the data is received and transmitted by the first user's terminal and received by the second user's terminal as active data. When the first user switches from the passive mode to the active mode there is a duration of the conference call that is left to be transmitted to the second user. That portion has been recorded and is played at a faster rate to the second user.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MESSAGE SENDING AND RECEIVING BASED ON A COMMUNICATION INTERFACE FRAMEWORK
20170272540 · 2017-09-21 · ·

Embodiments of the disclosure provide a communication interface framework, a message sending method and device based on a communication interface framework, a message receiving method and device based on a communication interface framework, and a communication system. The communication interface framework comprises: a device layer, a core layer and a protocol layer, wherein the device layer comprises a transmission device for providing the framework with, when transmitting data information, a transmission interface for transmitting the data information; the core layer comprises an interface protocol, a sending queue, and a receiving queue; and the protocol layer comprises a user mode application program interface and a kernel mode application program interface.

DETECTING USER IDENTITY IN SHARED AUDIO SOURCE CONTEXTS

Computerized systems are provided for determining an identity of one or more users that use a same audio source, such as a microphone. The identity of one or more users that use a same audio source can based on generating a list of participant candidates who are likely to participate in an associated event, such as a meeting. For instance, embodiments can generate one or more network graphs of a meeting invitee any only voice input samples of the meeting invitee's N closest connections are compared to an utterance to determine the identity of the user associated with the utterance. One or more indicators that identify the users who are using the same audio source, as well as additional information or metadata associated with the identified user can be caused to be presented.

CONFIGURING OUTPUT CONTROLS ON A PER-ONLINE IDENTITY AND/OR A PER-ONLINE RESOURCE BASIS
20210390148 · 2021-12-16 · ·

A process includes receiving, from a user identity, instructions for output characteristics including one or more of audio characteristics for rendering or capturing audio data or visual characteristics for rendering or capturing visual data. The process also includes determining, in response to the received instructions, output controls which effect the one or more of audio characteristics or visual characteristics, and associating the output controls with an online identity or resource. The process further includes storing the associated output controls and detecting an interaction with the online identity or resource. Moreover, the process includes accessing, in response to the detection of the interaction, the stored output controls, and enabling an effect, based on the output controls, of one or more of the audio characteristics or the visual characteristics with respect to interaction with the online identity or resource.

CONTROL ADJUSTED MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION DEVICES

In an example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a system comprising a sensor, a multimedia presentation device, and a controller. The controller may be configured to receive telemetry from the multimedia device and receive a multimedia capture from the sensor. The controller compares the multimedia capture to a control element and determines a relationship between the telemetry and the comparison. Based on the determination, the controller adjusts the configuration of the multimedia presentation device.
