Determining alignment using fiducials
A print apparatus is disclosed. In some examples, the print apparatus comprises a print head to deposit print agent onto a substrate; a detector to detect a fiducial; a first light source to back-illuminate the substrate, such that light from the first light source is to be detected by the detector through the substrate; and processing apparatus. The processing apparatus is to operate the print head to deposit print agent to form a first fiducial on a first side of the substrate, the first fiducial comprising a shape of a first colour and having a first dimension, and a background of print agent of a second, different colour, wherein the first dimension of the shape does not exceed a corresponding dimension of the background; operate the print head to deposit print agent to form a second fiducial on a second, opposite side of the substrate, the second fiducial comprising an inverted version of the shape of the first colour; operate the first light source to back-illuminate the substrate; operate the detector to detect the first and second fiducials; and determine whether the first fiducial is aligned with the second fiducial. A method and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.

A method of producing a printed product includes creating a project specification and storing the it on a server, the project specification including a palette of selected master colors, a printing substrate, a printing technique, and an ink base for a printed product; determining whether a quality assurance color is available for each master color, for master colors having an associated quality assurance color, automatically associating quality assurance color information with the master colors; generating a quality assurance package corresponding to the project specification, the quality assurance package including the quality assurance color information; providing a converter with access to the project specification and the quality assurance package; the converter producing the printed product according to the project specification and scoring the printed product against the quality assurance package; and receiving from the converter a score indicative of the printed product's appearance measured against the quality assurance color information.
Image forming apparatus and method correcting density unevenness for each divided region in a main scanning direction
An image forming apparatus includes a forming unit, a generation unit, a storage unit, a correction unit, and a changing unit. The forming unit forms an image. The generation unit generates correction data for correcting density unevenness for each of a plurality of regions divided in a main scanning direction of an image formed by the forming unit. The storage unit stores the correction data generated by the generation unit. The correction unit corrects a density of an image to be formed by the forming unit for each of the plurality of regions based on the correction data stored by the storage unit. The changing unit changes an image formation density by the forming unit with a uniform amount of change for the plurality of regions after the correction data is generated by the generation unit.

An image forming apparatus is provided. The apparatus comprises an image forming unit to form an image based on an image forming condition and a controller. The controller determines information related to a density of an image to be formed by the image forming unit; generates the image forming condition based on the information; acquires measurement data outputted from a sensor related to a test image; determines, based on a first determination condition, first information related to a density of the test image; determines, based on a first determination condition, second information related to a density of the test image; and selects the determination condition from among a plurality of determination conditions including the first determination condition and the second determination condition.

In an image forming apparatus, a recording head ejects ink corresponding to an image to be printed, using arranged nozzles. A control unit determines nozzles corresponding to the image to be printed, correspondingly to a position of a print sheet, and causes the recording head to eject ink from the nozzles. A correction processing performs a correction process corresponding to each of ink ejection malfunction positions in the image. Further, the correction processing unit (a) sets the ink ejection malfunction positions as targets of the correction process in advance, and (b) excludes from the targets on the basis of a sheet size of the print sheet an ink ejection malfunction position corresponding to a nozzle that is not used for the print sheet among nozzles corresponding to the plural ink ejection malfunction positions and thereafter performs the correction process for the targets.

An image forming apparatus according to the present disclosure includes an image forming unit configured to form an image based on an image forming condition; a reading unit configured to read a test image on a sheet; a controller configured to: control the image forming unit to form the test image; obtain read data related to the test image output from the reading unit is formed; and update the image forming condition based on the read data. The controller operates in a first mode and a second mode, the first mode is a mode in which, the controller controls the image forming unit to form the image for the second sheet after the image forming condition is updated based on the reading data related to the test image.
