Method for registering a terminal in an image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus operable by an operation device includes a storage that stores a plurality of operations, a detector that detects an operation, and a controller. The controller registers a terminal as the operation device if an operation detected by the detector conforms with an operation stored in the storage.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus configured to transmit apparatus management information used in the management of the own apparatus to an external server is provided with a first communication unit; a second communication unit that is different from the first communication unit; a transmission unit configured to externally transmit apparatus management information via the first communication unit when in a regular power mode in which the information processing apparatus operates using a first power source configured to receive a power supply from outside the apparatus; and a control unit configured to perform, in a case that power supply to the information processing apparatus by the first power supply has been stopped, control such that power is supplied to the second communication unit by a second power source inside the apparatus after this power supply has been stopped, and the apparatus management information is externally transmitted via the second communication unit.
METHODS AND PRINTING SYSTEM FOR VIRTUAL CALIBRATION AND VERIFICATION SERVICES
A virtual calibration system uses a reference printing device to add new printing devices and perform verification operations. The reference printing device is defined using color printing resources from an initial printing device. Policies define environmental specification information regarding the operating conditions for a printing device in the system. When a new printing device is added, the new printing device performs a match calibration using the color printing resources provided by the reference printing device. If the match calibration is acceptable, then the new printing device is added to the virtual calibration system. The reference printing device also instructs the printing devices to perform quality checks and to provide environmental information. Using the environmental information, the reference printing device determines if an issue is impacting color printing that is not related to the color printing capabilities of the printing device.
Data transmission system and data transmission method suitable for detecting problems in image processing
Provided is a data transmission system for detecting and predicting the occurrence of problems in image processing of a printing job before starting printing. A gateway registers a printing job that is received from a user terminal in memory, then transmits the printing job to a MFP. The MFP transmits printing data information to the gateway indicating the data amount in time when an image processing unit performs image processing on the printing job. The user terminal transmits printing data information to the gateway indicating the data amount in time when a simulated image processing unit perform a simulation process on the printing job. The gateway compares the printing data information, and when there is a difference in data amounts, registers problem information in memory indicating that there is a problem in image processing by the simulated image processing unit or the image processing unit.
Method for identifying print control elements for quality data acquisition
A method for identifying print control elements for quality data acquisition includes encoding position information in a human-readable identification code, encoding specific print job information and the human-readable identification code in a machine-readable data code, positioning the codes alongside their associated print control element on a printing substrate, photographing the printed print control element and adjacent machine-readable data code using information from adjacent identification code, and processing data with a mobile communication device having a camera function and communications interface. Image data produced are exporting to a support computer via the communications interface. Machine-readable data code are decoded, image data on the computer are analyzed using information obtained from decoded machine-readable data code, the results of analysis are transmitted from the computer to the mobile communication device, and erroneous settings, found by image analysis, in a printing press producing printed products, are corrected.
AUTOMATED DIAGNOSES OF ISSUES AT PRINTING DEVICES BASED ON VISUAL DATA
An example of an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes an input device to receive camera data. The camera data is associated with a printing device. The apparatus further includes an analysis engine to analyze the camera data with a convolutional neural network model to identify an issue. The apparatus also includes a resolution engine to determine a solution for the issue.
METHOD FOR MONITORING A COLOR STANDARD IN A PRINTING MACHINE
A method monitors a color standard for a machine for processing printing material. The color standard results from various parameters of the printing operation and correspondingly associated set points. The color standard may be modified and individually adapted to every machine. The machine is equipped such that current values of the parameters of the color standard are measured and forwarded to a computer. The computer compares these values and predefined set points of the color standard, and based on this information, makes an assessment of the color and quality level achieved in the printing operation. The computer outputs control signals based on the monitoring. The control signals influence the machine control and/or the determining of the current values of the parameters of the color standard in a feedback loop. The color standard is modifiable by the operator by a different selection and weighting of the parameters and the set points.
Display control apparatus and computer program
A display control apparatus is configured to display on a display unit a user interface screen for an image data generating apparatus configured to generate image data using an image sensor. The display control apparatus includes a setting acquiring unit which is configured to acquire a setting value for generating the image data, a display determining unit which is configured to determine whether to display an update reception screen based on the acquired setting value, a display control unit which is configured to display the update reception screen on the display unit if the display determining unit determines to display the update reception screen, and is configured not to display the update reception screen on the display unit if the display determining unit determines not to display the update reception screen, and an instruction receiving unit which is configured to receive the update instruction through the update reception screen.
