A storage unit stores, for each state of an information processing apparatus, pieces of correspondence information indicating either a correspondence relation between pieces of content identification information and time information indicating latest times when the contents are displayed, or a correspondence relation between the pieces of content identification information and frequency information representing display frequencies of the contents. A selection unit selects the correspondence information corresponding to a current state of the information processing apparatus. A determining unit determines, as display content information identifying the content to be displayed, content identification information out of the pieces of content identification information included in the selected correspondence information, based on the time information or the frequency information corresponding to the pieces of content identification information included in selected the correspondence information. A display control unit performs control to display the content identified by the determined display content information.

The techniques include capturing image data depicting a document; defining a plurality of candidate edge points within the image data; and defining four sides of a tetragon based on at least some of the plurality of candidate edge points; wherein each side of the tetragon corresponds to a different side of the document; wherein an area of the tetragon comprises at least a threshold percentage of a total area of the digital image; and wherein the tetragon bounds the digital representation of the document.

A shared terminal includes: circuitry to cause a display to display an image to a plurality of users, the plurality of users simultaneously sharing use of the shared terminal; and a network interface to communicate with a destination management server through a network, the destination management server being different from the shared terminal and storing, in a memory, for each of the plurality of users, user identification information of the user in association with an email address of the user. The circuitry: obtains, from a first terminal of a first user of the plurality of users, first terminal identification information identifying the first terminal; transmits first user identification information of the user of the first terminal to the destination management server; receives, from the destination management server, a first email address of the first user, the first email address being obtained from the memory of the destination management server using the first user identification information; and transmits an email addressed to the received first email address to allow the first user to obtain data relating to the image displayed to the plurality of users.

A portable security device may enable a security guard to quietly and unobtrusively solicit assistance, or transmit information, when desired. A portable security device may include a user interface, a LiFi source and a controller that is operatively coupled to the user interface and to the LiFi source. In some cases, the controller may be configured to present two or more alert options to the security guard via the user interface and to receive a selection of one of the alert options by the security guard. In response to the selection of an alert option by the security guard, the controller may be configured to transmit a LiFi message that corresponds to the selected alert option via the LiFi source.
