The double feed process includes: halting conveyance of an original document; and making notification of the occurrence of the double-feed. The first process performs, in accordance with the command, one of: resuming the conveyance of the original document; and quitting the conveyance of the original document. The second process performs, in accordance with a determination result, one of: resuming the conveyance of the original document; and continuing the halting and the making. The resuming is performed when the determination result indicates that the conveyance of the original document is possible. The continuing is performed when the determination result indicates that the conveyance of the original document is impossible.

An image controller of an image forming apparatus is configured to generate a light emission signal for detection for forming light emission for detection, and transmit the light emission signal for detection to a laser controller through a flexible flat cable, and the laser controller is configured to cause a semiconductor laser to emit light in accordance with the light emission signal for detection, and determine, based on a PD signal output from a PD that has received a light beam, whether improper connection has occurred in the flexible flat cable.

A scanning system includes a scanner and a host device. The host device is operated to select a scanning region. An object exists in the scanning region. The host device provides a predicted model corresponding to the object. The predicted model has at least one first characteristic parameter. The scanner scans the object and transmits a plurality of scanned images to the host device. The host device integrates the scanned images into a temporary image. The temporary image has at least one second characteristic parameter. The host device determines whether the second characteristic parameter matches with the first characteristic parameter. When the host device determines that the second characteristic parameter matches with the first characteristic parameter, the host device retains the temporary image. When the host device determines that the second characteristic parameter does not match with the first characteristic parameter, the host device abandons the temporary image.

An image forming device includes a CPU. The CPU causes an image reader to collectively read a plurality of documents placed in each divided area of a document placement table and acquire individual images according to a user operation. Furthermore, the CPU generates, for each divided area, an image file that includes the image. In addition, if document reading is executed in a state where a document is placed in an inappropriate position, a notification screen for notifying the user that the document is not appropriately placed is displayed on a display before the image file data is generated.

An image processing apparatus according to the present invention includes a registration unit configured to register first image data as a template, a character recognition unit configured to recognize one or more character strings included in second image data different from the first image data, a display unit configured to display the one or more character strings recognized by the character recognition a reception unit configured to receive a selection of a character string displayed by the display unit, the selection being made by a user, and a storage unit configured to store the second image data in a folder named with a character string based on the selection received by the reception unit. The display unit does not display, from among of the one or more character strings recognized by the character recognition unit, a character string included in the image data registered by the registration.

A scanning system includes a scanner and a host device. The host device is operated to select a scanning region. An object exists in the scanning region. The document management facility may utilize robotic apparatus to perform the various functions for processing the documents, which may include document intake, document storage, document digitization, and/or document removal.
