An image reading device having a mark formed on front and back of a sheet by an image forming device, and including a first scanner which reads the mark and a second scanner provided at a downstream side of the first scanner and which reads the mark, includes: a position adjusting unit configured to adjust front and back positions of the mark on the basis of a print position of the mark read by at least one of the first scanner and the second scanner; and a monitoring unit configured to monitor front and back misregistration of the mark on the basis of the front and back positions of the mark adjusted by the position adjusting unit.

A technology that enables accurate position specification on an image displayed on a screen to perform processing and correction of the image data is provided. When the image is printed on a sheet on which a dot pattern is printed, a reference point of the image on the display device is set and the reference point is printed in a visible mark together with the image. This mark is imaged with an imaging means, and calibration is performed in which position coordinates of the marks on the sheet and the reference points of the image are matched, thereby preventing variation in coordinates between designation made on the sheet with the imaging means and processing on the image.

An image scanning device includes a detector and a setter. The detector scans an image in units of pages, and detects a code image included in the image in units of pages. When the detector detects the code image on one page and then detects the code image on another page, the setter sets a scanning area on a subsequent page following the other page in accordance with a position of the code image detected on the one page and a position of the code image detected on the other page.

An image processing apparatus includes a processor, and memory storing computer readable instructions, when executed by the processor, causing the apparatus to function as a storage destination specifying unit configured analyze original image data generated by optically reading a document, the document including a body area having information written therein, and also including a storage destination specifying area representing information for specifying a storage destination to store target image data representing a target including the body area, so as to specify the storage destination to store the target image data, and a target image data providing unit configured to provide the target image data to the specified storage destination.

An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet feeder; a reading device that takes a reading of a sheet fed from the sheet feeder; and a controller. The controller performs steps including: for each tray of the sheet feeder, managing sheet information including a reference reading value as a reference for the reading by the reading device; when switching from a first tray to another tray, selecting a second tray such that predetermined items of the sheet information match between the first and second trays; instructing the reading device to take a reading of a sheet fed from the second tray; calculating a correction value of a position of an image to be formed on the sheet fed from the second tray based on a quantity of change in the reading value relative to the reference reading value included in the sheet information of the second tray.
