A display input device including: a display panel provided for the display panel; and a control unit that recognizes user operation content, recognizes a drag operation whereby a predetermined start area in the display panel is touched and, while said touch is continued, the touch position is slid towards a predetermined end area, recognizes arrival at the touch position end area as a power supply OFF command that instructs a power supply to turn OFF, and causes processing for turning off the power supply when a power supply OFF command is recognized.
TECHNIQUES TO SELECTIVELY CAPTURE VISUAL MEDIA USING A SINGLE INTERFACE ELEMENT
Techniques to selectively capture media using a single user interface element are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a touch controller, a visual media capture component, and a storage component. The touch controller may be operative to receive a haptic engagement signal. The visual media capture component may be operative to be configured in a capture mode based on whether a haptic disengagement signal is received by the touch controller before expiration of a first timer, the capture mode one of a photo capture mode or video capture mode, the first timer started in response to receiving the haptic engagement signal, the first timer configured to expire after a first preset duration. The storage component may be operative to store visual media captured by the visual media capture component in the configured capture mode. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
MULTI-USER RETAIL PHOTO PRODUCT CREATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
Described herein is a multi-user retail photo kiosk system that includes multiple touch screen and Graphic User Interface (GUI) controlled consumer photo editing, photo print and product selection, and photo order placement terminals and multiple photo printers. The user photo kiosk terminals can receive images. Billing and payment is accomplished using barcoded receipts provided at the user terminal for payments for purchased photo products. A printer array incorporating various printers capable of producing prints or various sizes and formats can be configured as a horizontal counter or as a vertical tower and includes means to alert the user that their photo print order is complete. In addition, the system automatically notifies operators if equipment service, maintenance, media refilling, and/or post printing finishing procedures are required.

An example image forming apparatus includes a user interface device, an image forming job operator, a processor, and a memory. The processor executes instructions to display a preview screen of a document through the user interface device, perform an embedding process of embedding user-specific information into a plurality of user-specific information input areas included in the document, display state information of the plurality of user-specific information input areas on the preview screen in synchronization with progress of the embedding process, and, when the embedding process is completed, perform an image forming job with respect to the document in which the user-specific information is embedded, through the image forming job operator.

A display device includes a display, a touch panel, and a control device. The control device includes a processor and functions as a controller through the processor executing a control program. The controller determines, based on a detection result of a gesture on the touch panel, whether a hand of a user having made the gesture is a right hand or a left hand, and allows the display to display a first screen predetermined for gesture operation with a right hand when determining that the hand having made the gesture is the right hand, or allows the display to display a second screen predetermined for gesture operation with a left hand when determining that the hand having made the gesture is the left hand.

A reading device includes a base on which a read target object is placed, a reader that reads the read target object placed on the base, a first attachment frame to which the reader is attached such that the reader is disposed above the base, an operation unit that is used for operating the reading device by touching, a second attachment frame to which the operation unit is attached such that the operation unit is disposed above the base, and a support frame that has a first surface and a second surface more bendable than the first surface in response to an external force. The first attachment frame is fixed to the first surface of the support frame. The second attachment frame is fixed to the second surface of the support frame.

A purpose of the present invention is to obtain a good tactile sensation of a vibration response even if a state or an operation situation of an operation panel changes, when the operation panel installed in a stationary machine, such as an image forming device, is vibrated as an operation response.
The present invention is applied to an operation input device that notifies a user by causing a vibrating element to vibrate an operation panel attached to a device main body when an operation of the operation panel by the user is detected. Here, in order to drive the vibrating element, at least one of a plurality of vibration directions is selected to drive the vibrating element when an operation input from the operation panel is detected.

An information processing system acquires, using a reading device, a read image from an original on which a handwritten character is written; acquires, based on the read image, a partial image that is a partial region of the read image and a binarized image that expresses the partial image by two tones; performs learning of a learning model based on learning data that uses the partial image as a correct answer image and the binarized image as an input image; acquires print data including a font character; generates conversion image data including a gradation character obtained by inputting the font character to the learning model; and causes an image forming device to form an image based on the generated conversion image data.

A display device, method, computer-readable storage medium and user interface, each of which detects contact to or proximity of an object with respect to a generated image, and responsive to detection of contact to or proximity of the object to the generated image, disables any operational functions associated with a first portion of the generated image. Additionally, operation associated with a second portion of the generated image is allowed responsive to the detection of contact to or proximity of the object to the generated image, where the second portion of the generated image is different from the first portion of the generated image. An indication corresponding to the second portion of the generated image for which operation is enabled may be displayed on the generated image.
