An image forming apparatus that is capable of wireless communication with an operation device and that can be operated by the operation device via the wireless communication, the image forming apparatus comprising: an image forming unit configured to perform image formation on a sheet based on a print execution instruction sent from the operation device via the wireless communication; a reading unit configured to perform reading of an image formed on the sheet based on a scan execution instruction sent from the operation device via the wireless communication; and a controller that, during a period of time from the time one user logs in the image forming apparatus until the user logs out, (1) is configured to prohibit the print execution instruction using an operation device by other user who has logged in using the operation device, and (2) is configured to permit the scan execution instruction using the operation device.

According to embodiments, an image forming device includes a printer, a memory, and a processor. The printer forms an image on a medium. The memory stores information indicating a designated user with respect to a specific content as a printing person to print the specific content. When printing of a specific content for which a designated user as a printing person is stored in the memory in correspondence is requested, the processor controls printing of the specific content by the printer with the designated user as the printing person.

A method for configuring a raster image processor (RIP) for a digital printing system includes receiving a file for a print job; receiving or determining job characteristics of the print job or the file for the print job; receiving or determining hardware characteristics of hardware upon which the RIP is operating; inputting the job characteristics and the hardware characteristics into a trained artificial intelligence (AI) module; and selecting, using the trained AI module, a configuration or settings for the RIP for processing of the file based on the plurality of job characteristics and the plurality of hardware characteristics.
