Systems and methods for identifying and transferring sheets
Provided are systems and methods for identifying, isolating, and/or aligning sheets. An identification system can facilitate accurate identification of a sheet by (i) vacating one or more components of the system that are not the sheet from a zone of detection, and/or (ii) determining a reference axis of the sheet. An isolation system can facilitate accurate isolation of a sheet by (i) providing targeted air flow, and/or (ii) introducing a wave into the sheet. Identification systems and/or isolation systems described herein may facilitate isolation of sheets that were previously fastened together by one or more fasteners. An alignment system can facilitate accurate alignment of a first sheet at an upstream location relative to a second sheet at a downstream location via machine learning.

A container apparatus includes a first container unit that is movable from a first position at which a recording medium having a first size is to be supplied into an apparatus body to a second position at which a user is to supply the recording medium and that includes an upstream end portion and a downstream end portion in a direction in which the recording medium is to be supplied into the apparatus body with the first container unit positioned at the first position. The upstream end portion and the downstream end portion of the first container unit are located at different heights with the first container unit positioned at the second position.
ADF With Automated Tray Extenders For Legal Media Are Automatically Covered/Uncovered Triggered By Sensors
An automatic document feeder includes a media path to route media through the automatic document feeder, at least one media tray to one of supply the media to the media path and receive the media from the media path, and an automated media tray extender at an end of the media tray, the automated media tray extender to be positioned based on a presence of the media in the media tray.
Sheet feeding apparatus and image forming system
A sheet feeding apparatus includes a control unit. After finishing feeding the sheet, if the sheet detection unit does not detect the sheet when the lift plate is positioned at the sheet feeding position, the control unit sets the waiting position to a lowest position. Further, if the sheet detection unit detects the sheet and if the remaining amount detection unit detects that the remaining amount of the sheets is a predetermined amount or less, the control unit sets the waiting position to a height position between the sheet feeding position and the lowest position. Further, if the sheet detection unit detects the sheet and if the remaining amount detection unit detects that the remaining amount of the sheets is more than the predetermined amount, the control unit sets the waiting position to the lowest position.
Original feeding device
An original feeding device includes a pick-up roller, a separation feeding unit, a first original presence/absence detecting sensor, a second original presence/absence detecting sensor and a control unit. When an original is detected by the first and second original presence/absence detecting sensors, the control unit discriminates that the original on the original tray has a first width. When the original is detected by the first original presence/absence detecting sensor but is not detected by the second original presence/absence detecting sensor, the control unit discriminates that the original has a second width smaller than the first width. After the control unit discriminates that the original has the second width and then feeding of the original is started, and then the original is detected by the second original presence/absence detecting sensor, the control unit stops the drive of the pick-up roller and the drive of the separation feeding unit.
SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet feeding apparatus includes an apparatus body including an opening portion, a storage configured to store a sheet, a pickup roller configured to pick up and feed the sheet, a separation conveyance unit including a separation nip, and a guide member including a guiding surface configured to guide the sheet such that the sheet passes under an upper edge of the opening portion while the storage is being drawn out of the apparatus body. A downstream end of the guiding surface in a sheet feeding direction is positioned downstream of the separation nip in the sheet feeding direction. An upstream end of the guiding surface in the sheet feeding direction is positioned upstream in the sheet feeding direction of a leading-edge position of the sheet stored in the storage.
MOTOR DRIVING APPARATUS, SHEET CONVEYANCE APPARATUS, DOCUMENT FEEDING APPARATUS, DOCUMENT READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A motor control unit controls a driving current that flows through a coil of a motor to be driven, by controlling a PWM signal supplied to an H bridge circuit constituted by FETs. A current value generation unit detects a driving current based on a voltage that occurs across a current detection resistor, and corrects a detection value by using a first or second correction value. The current value generation unit, if the driving current is detected in the H period of the PWM signal, corrects the detection value by using the first correction value, and if the driving current is detected in the L period of the PWM signal, corrects the detection value by using the second correction value that has a polarity different from a polarity of the first correction value.
SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND SHEET CONVEYING METHOD
A sheet conveying device includes a sheet placement table, a sheet discharge table, a conveyance mechanism, raising/lowering mechanism, and a raising/lowering control portion. The sheet discharge table is located below the sheet placement table. The conveyance mechanism conveys a sheet placed on the sheet placement table onto the sheet discharge table via an execution position at which image processing is executed by an image processing portion. The raising/lowering mechanism raises and lowers the sheet placement table. The raising/lowering control portion controls the raising/lowering mechanism to raise and lower the sheet placement table to a target position that is determined in accordance with a size of the sheet on the sheet discharge table.
The raising/lowering control portion controls the raising/lowering mechanism to lower the sheet placement table when a human detection sensor configured to detect a human in a detection region has detected a human in the detection region.
