Image forming apparatus, control method of image forming apparatus, and storage medium
A printing apparatus has first and second sheet storage units, where a second sheet conveyance path is longer than a first sheet conveyance path, and includes a determining unit and a permitting unit. When a sheet stored in the first sheet storage unit is for printing of a Nth page included in a first job and a sheet stored in the second sheet storage unit is for printing of a N+1th page included in the same first job, the determining unit determines a feeding schedule in which the N+1th page sheet feeding is initiated before the Nth page sheet feeding is initiated. When an issued instruction is issued to perform a second job by interrupting the first job after determining the feeding schedule, the permitting unit permits printing of a page included in the second job before the printing of the N+1th page included in the first job.
ILLUMINATOR CALIBRATIONS FOR MEDIA EDGE DETECTIONS
An apparatus including an illuminator to emit light on a media to be printed on is provided. The apparatus also includes an optical sensor disposed proximate to the illuminator to detect an amount of reflected light. In addition, the apparatus includes a processor to control the illuminator and the optical sensor. The processor is to calibrate the illuminator to determine a first brightness level for high sensitivity at the optical sensor. The processor is to calibrate the illuminator to determine a second brightness level iteratively based on a signal to noise ratio. The processor is to compare the second brightness level with the first brightness level to determine whether to proceed with detection of an edge of the media using the second brightness level.
PRINTER INCLUDING COPY AND SCAN FUNCTIONS
Copy and scan printing may include scanning, by scanner disposed along a paper path between a paper delivery roller and a paper pickup roller, content of documents (302). Further, copy and scan printing may include determining whether the documents are to be copied (304), in response to a determination that the documents are to be copied, determining whether a page count of the documents to be copied is available (306), and generating copies of the documents (310).
FLIP-COVER MULTIFUNCTIONAL IMAGE FORMING DEVICE
A flip-cover multifunctional image forming device includes a lower body, a first image forming module, a cover body, at least one pivoting mechanism, an upper body and a second image forming module. The first image forming module is disposed inside the lower body. The at least one pivoting mechanism is connected to the lower body and the cover body and for pivoting the cover body relative to the lower body between a folded position and an unfolded position. The upper body is detachably disposed on a side of the cover body away from the lower body. The upper body is driven by the cover body to move relative to the lower body when the cover body pivots relative to the lower body. The second image forming module is disposed inside the upper body. The present invention has advantages of simple structure, easy operation and flexibility in use.
Recording apparatus and recording method
A recording apparatus includes a recording head, a loading unit, a feeding unit, a cover, a detection unit, and a determination unit. The feeding unit feeds a recording medium loaded on the loading unit to a recording position where the recording head performs the recording. The cover moves between an opening state and a closing state. The determination unit determines a size of the loaded recording medium based on a result of a width detection operation. The recording head records an image per a determination result. If the cover closing is detected before the recording is performed, the determination unit performs the width detection operation to determine the recording medium size loaded on the loading unit. If the cover opening is detected and the recording apparatus receives a recording instruction, the determination unit performs the width detection operation to determine the recording medium size loaded on the loading unit.
Document feeder using single motor and image reading apparatus including the same
An image reading apparatus includes an image sensor, a document feeder, and a processor. The document feeder includes a first driving device, a second driving device, a third driving device, a first sensor, and a second sensor. The first driving device includes a pick-up member to move documents from a tray to a document conveying path using a driving force through a first clutch. The second driving device is to move the tray with the documents to a side of the pick-up member using a driving force through a second clutch. The third driving device to move the documents along the document conveying path onto the image sensor using the driving force of the motor. The first and second sensors detect the documents on the document conveying path. The processor controls an operation of the first clutch based on the signals of the first and second sensors.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus, having a medium storage, a medium conveyer, an image forming device, a user input interface, and a controller, is provided. The controller operates the image forming device and the medium conveyer to perform a first action to form an image composed of image data in an area on a sheet-formed medium from one side of the image in a lengthwise direction, which corresponds to the predetermined conveying direction. On a condition where the first action is aborted, the controller operates the image forming device and the medium conveyer to perform a second action to form an image composed of the image data in another area on the sheet-formed medium different from the area in which the image was formed in the first action until a time point instructed by input from a user accepted through the user input interface.
