A printing apparatus corrects image data for printing on the basis of a color measurement result obtained by a sensor, prints a set of first color tone correction patches on a first sheet with a predetermined size and prints a set of a second color tone correction patches on a second sheet with the predetermined size. When the first sheet and the second sheet are printed one after another, a color measurement result of the tone correction patches printed on the first sheet and the second sheet is used in correcting the image data for printing. When the first sheet and the second sheet with the predetermined size are not printed one after another, a color measurement result of the tone correction patches printed on the first sheet and the second sheet for correcting the image data for printing is not used in correcting the image data for printing.

The relevant area is a basis for the determination information.

A printing apparatus causes a printer engine to print first tone correction patches of a first color on a first sheet and to print second tone correction patches of a second color being different from the first color on a second sheet, generate correction information based on a color measurement result of the first tone correction patches and the second tone correction patches printed on the first sheet and the second sheet, respectively, as measured by a sensor, and correct image data using the correction information. In the generation of the correction information, in a case where there are more than a predetermined number of sheets of a size being different from a predetermined size between the first sheet and the second sheet, the correction information using the color measurement result of the first tone correction patches and the second tone correction patches is not generated.

A document determination system includes a server apparatus that stores document data, a second multi-function printer that generates an authentic printed product, which is an authentic printed product in which a document represented by document data stored in the server apparatus is printed and in which at least a portion of the document is printed in composite black that is black represented using ink of a plurality of colors, and a third multi-function printer that reads a printed surface of a reading target including the authentic printed product and a duplicate of the authentic printed product. The server apparatus determines, based on whether at least the portion of the document represented by read data generated through reading by the third multi-function printer is printed in composite black, whether the reading target read by the third multi-function printer is the authentic printed product.

An image forming apparatus (100) extracts from first image data (11) second image data (12), which is image data of a document, and accepts operation for selecting either a first preview image (71) corresponding to the first image data (11) or a second preview image (72) corresponding to the second image data (12). The image forming apparatus (100) outputs, when the first preview image (71) is selected, the first image data (11) and, when the second preview image (72) is selected, the second image data (12).
METHOD FOR SCANNING ORIGINALS
The invention relates to a method for scanning originals using a scanner, for example a flatbed scanner, said method comprising the steps of: (i) performing a pre-scan using a scanner bed (2) of the scanner, said scanner bed (2) having an extension in the x-direction and in the y-direction, in order to measure an x-extension (4) between a smallest (4a) and a largest extension value (4b) in the x-direction and to measure a y-extension (6) between a smallest (6a) and a largest extension value (6b) in the y-direction in respect of each of the originals on the scanner bed (2), and creating scanning frames (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6) associated with the originals from the respectively measured extension values, (ii) specifying the scanning frame (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6) with the largest y-extension (6) as the leading frame (R4), (iii) defining as subsequent frames (R3, R5) those which are located with their y-extension within a section (10) of the scanning bed which is spanned in the y-direction by the smallest and the largest extension value of the y-extension of the leading frame, (iv) creating an image processing dataset from said section, its leading frame and its subsequent frames, (v) registering said image processing dataset in a list of image processing datasets, (vi) performing steps (ii) to (v), without taking into account the scanning frames already existing in an image processing dataset, until all the scanning frames measured in step (i) are included in an image processing dataset, (vii) capturing image data by scanning the sections of the image processing datasets registered in the list, (viii) cropping the image data of originals from the captured image data along the scanning frame, and (ix) storing the cropped image data of the originals.

DOCUMENT DETERMINATION SYSTEM AND PRINTING DEVICE
A document determination system includes a server device that stores identification information in association with document information, a printer that prints a document image corresponding to the document information and a code image indicating the identification information on a print medium to generate a normal printed matter, and a scanner that reads a print image printed on a printed matter including the normal printed matter and a copied printed matter obtained by copying the normal printed matter. The printer prints the code image in a preset end region of the print medium. The server device determines whether the printed matter is the normal printed matter based on the code image included in the print image read by the scanner.
