Systems, methods and devices for authentication of security devices having chaosmetrics features are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method which can be implemented on a system to perform authentication of a security device. In one embodiment, the method includes detecting a scan of the security device by a user device, identifying a rotational orientation of the user device in relation to the security device and/or generating a fingerprint of the security device specific to the user device having the rotational orientation in relation to the security device. An image similarity index of an authentication scan of the security device and the fingerprint generated for the security device can be determined and a positive authentication result can be identified for the authentication request of the security device responsive to determination that the image similarity index exceeds a threshold value.

To make it possible to easily determine a printed material of an electronic document proved to be an authentic original document and a copied material thereof. In a case where a printed material is copied, embedded information is extracted from a scanned image obtained by scanning the target printed material. Then, in a case where it is confirmed that the copy-target printed material is an authentic document, the printed material is printed and output by adding information indicating being a copied material thereto.

A document determination system includes a server device that stores identification information in association with document information, a printer that prints a document image corresponding to the document information and a code image indicating the identification information on a print medium to generate a normal printed matter, and a scanner that reads a print image printed on a printed matter including the normal printed matter and a copied printed matter obtained by copying the normal printed matter. The printer prints the code image in a preset end region of the print medium. The server device determines whether the printed matter is the normal printed matter based on the code image included in the print image read by the scanner.

An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit configured to form an image; an image scanning unit configured to scan an image; and a control unit configured to perform control of the image forming unit and the image scanning unit, wherein the control unit controls the image scanning unit to scan an original, controls the image forming unit to form an additional image on the original after the scanning of the original is completed, and controls the image forming unit to form, after the formation of the additional image on the original is completed, an image in which the original is copied based on image information of the original scanned by the image scanning unit.

Systems, methods and apparatuses are described herein that allow an enterprise to analyze and manage work product images that are stored on a mobile device. Employees of an enterprise may use a mobile device to store both work product images (e.g., images of sensitive or proprietary information) and non-work product images (e.g., personal images). An enterprise may desire to enforce security protocols on the work product images, but the employee may not want the security protocols applied to the non-work product images. In some embodiments, by installing and executing an image manager that is able to analyze and manage images, the enterprise can enforce security protocols on only the work product images. Such security protocols may include the prevention of unauthorized viewing of the work product image (e.g., by encrypting the work product image) or deleting any work product image from the mobile device when the employee's employment has ended.

An image output device includes a storage and outputs image data stored the storage. The image output device includes a detector, an output controller, and an eraser. The detector detects whether or not specific image information is included in the image data. The output controller allows an output of the image data when the image data does not include the specific image information, and disallows the output of the image data when the image data includes the specific image information. The eraser erases the image data from the storage when the specific image information is included in the image data.

A device and a method that achieve a watermark that can be easily recorded and does not significantly impair the appearance of a printed matter are provided. A watermark recording unit (214) that records watermark dots having a color having a small difference from an area color of an area in which a watermark is recorded, and a watermark recording mode determination unit (213) that determines a color of the watermark dots are included. The watermark recording mode determination unit (213) determines a color of the watermark dots in such a way that a wavelength difference Δλ, which is a difference between a color wavelength of the watermark dots and an area color wavelength of a recording area of the watermark dots, is less than a wavelength resolution of human eye. Moreover, the color of the watermark dots is determined in such a way that the wavelength difference Δλ is equal to or higher than a wavelength resolution of a spectroscopic camera (hyperspectral camera) (141) that captures an image for watermark analysis.

Examples described herein relate to a system consistent with the disclosure. For instance, the system may comprise a printing device including hardware to form markings on a print medium, a memory resource, and a controller to receive a print job to form the markings on the print medium, render a page description language of the print job to form the markings, determine an object type image of the print job, designate pixels of the determined object type image to form a covert dot pattern on the image, and adjust colors of the designated pixels to form the covert dot pattern on the markings.

In the present invention, at least a part of a target image provided by a first user is set as a first image, content displayed on a display screen of a terminal of a second user is stored in association with the first image, data for printing is transmitted to the terminal, a read image is received from the terminal in a case in which a printed matter generated by printing a target image and a second image on a designated medium in accordance with the data for printing is read by the terminal, a storage destination is specified from a portion corresponding to the second image in the read image, and display data for displaying the content stored in the storage destination at a position in the display screen in accordance with a portion corresponding to the first image in the read image is transmitted to the terminal.

A method of verifying an authenticity of a printed item includes: photographing the printed item to obtain a photographic image of the printed item, retrieving reference data of the printed item, the reference data including a reference image of the printed item, determining a test noise parameter from the photographic image of the printed item, determining a reference noise parameter from the reference image, comparing the test noise parameter of the photographic image of the printed item to the reference noise parameter of the reference image, and determining an authenticity of the printed item from a result of the comparing. The determining the authenticity of the printed item from the result of the comparing may include establishing from the reference noise parameter of the reference image and the test noise parameter of the printed item.
