An image processing apparatus is communicable with a system including a censorship function, and includes one or more controllers having one or more processors and one or more memories, and the one or more controllers are configured to transmit an image acquired by reading a display medium to the system, receive a censorship result from the system, and control the image processing apparatus to perform a predetermined operation corresponding to the received censorship result, wherein the predetermined operation is a preset operation to be performed by the image processing apparatus based on the received censorship result.

An electronic device according to an embodiment includes: a camera including an image sensor; a communication module; a memory; and a processor operationally connected to the camera, the communication module, and the memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed, instruct the processor to: acquire a first image including an external object by using the camera; acquire a second image including less information than the first image by using at least a part of the first image; transmit the second image to an external electronic device by using the communication module; receive security information corresponding to the second image from the external electronic device by using the communication module; and secure the first image, at least partially based on the security information. In addition, various other embodiments are possible.

The invention provides methods and apparatus for securing personalized or sensitive information appearing in digital images. Digital images containing information to be secured is processed and divided into a plurality of image cells. At least one image cell from the plurality of image cells is selected and redacted or altered to render the information to be secured with the selected image cells indecipherable. The invention also provides methods and apparatus for transmitting or streaming unredacted image cells alone or in combination with redacted image cells for secured viewing on a user browser or computer.

A visual privacy system unilaterally blocks rolling shutter cameras by providing a periodically interrupted ambient light source imposing bright and dark bands on the image yet at a frequency imperceptible to human observers in the environment. Communication of the modulation pattern to authorized cameras allows unaffected imaging in these regions by authorized individuals. The system also contemplates operation in a barcoding mode with a light modulation providing embedded barcodes that can be extracted from images taken in the region to indicate that the images were improperly acquired and to block the images in certain applications.

The present disclosure relates generally to signal encoding for product packaging and other printed objects. One implementation utilizes a target reflectance value for image content combined with an encoded signal at or around 660 nm to guide color changes. Luminance change is controlled through opposing color shifts, while maintaining the target reflectance value. Other implementations are provided.

A document determination system includes a server device that stores identification information in association with document information, a printer that prints a document image corresponding to the document information and a code image indicating the identification information on a print medium to generate a normal printed matter, and a scanner that reads a print image printed on a printed matter including the normal printed matter and a copied printed matter obtained by copying the normal printed matter. The printer prints the code image in a preset end region of the print medium. The server device determines whether the printed matter is the normal printed matter based on the code image included in the print image read by the scanner.

An information processing apparatus includes a reception unit that receives a transmission request for image data from an image processing apparatus to which a user provides an instruction to execute image processing, an acquisition unit that acquires a security policy corresponding to attribute information related to an attribute of the image processing apparatus in a case where the reception unit receives the transmission request, and a control unit that performs control for transmitting the image data to the image processing apparatus and executing the image processing in the image processing apparatus in accordance with the security policy acquired by the acquisition unit.

An image processing apparatus including a processor that performs: compressing target data for printing; decompressing the compressed target data; and when the resolution of the uncompressed target data is higher than the resolution of low-resolution data included in the compressed target data, generating sample data by decompressing only the low-resolution data, the sample data to be used for a process of detecting data of a particular image from the target data.
