A non-transitory storage medium stores a plurality of instructions readable by a computer of an information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus comprises a communication interface for connecting to a scanner. The information processing apparatus includes a first route and a second route. When executed by the computer, the plurality of instructions cause the information processing apparatus to execute a scan control using the first route in which a read result of a document by the scanner is obtained by using the first route after receiving an execution instruction for scanning, determine whether the scan control using the first route has failed or not, and execute a scan control using the second route in which the read result of the document by the scanner is obtained by using the second route when it is determined that the scan control using the first route has failed.

A configuration is provided in which in a case where a user operation is performed on an image forming apparatus or a data processing apparatus while the image forming apparatus and the data processing apparatus are operating in cooperation with each other, the automatic clearing timers of both the apparatuses are reset.

The restart process is to restart the suspended printing to complete the print job after a reason that the first instruction is made is resolved.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to control an operation of an apparatus by executing a control program, in a case where an instruction to shift to a power-off state is received, perform shift from a normal operation state to any one of a first power-off state or a second power-off state, the first power-off state being a state where the operation is stopped without restarting the control program, the second power-off state being a state where the control program is restarted and then the operation is stopped, and in a case where the shift to the first power-off state is made, set at least a part of information regarding an operation of the information processing apparatus to a value that is set in a case where the control program is restarted.

An image forming apparatus obtains an interrupt execution instruction of an image forming job, the interrupt execution instruction including image data and execution information, suspends a prior image forming job being executed by using a first memory area, generates printable data by applying the execution information to image data of the suspended prior image forming job, writes the generated printable data in a second memory area, deletes the prior image forming job from the first memory area to free the first memory area, executes an interrupt image forming job of the interrupt execution instruction by using the first memory area, the prior image forming job having been deleted from the first memory area, and retrieves the printable data written in the second memory area and forms an image by using the retrieved printable data to execute the suspended prior image forming job.

An image forming apparatus includes a processor, a storage unit, a paper sheet feeder, an image forming unit, and a postprocessing unit. The postprocessing unit performs postprocessing on the recording sheet following image formation by the image forming unit. When a print/postprocessing job in which a plurality of copies is printed and postprocessing is performed on each copy is executed by the print-job execution unit, the postprocessing-position marking unit labels image data for at least the head page of the first copy with predetermined marks respectively in a position where postprocessing is to be performed and in a position where postprocessing is performable. The print-job execution unit, when executing the print/postprocessing job, performs control such that the first copy is printed without postprocessing, an image in which at least the head page has been labeled with the marks is printed, and the print/postprocessing job is temporarily halted.

A reading apparatus includes a transport unit, a multi-feed detection unit, a reading unit, and a controller. When a multi-feed of the document is detected by the multi-feed detection unit, the controller multi-feeds causes the transport unit to discharge, downstream of the transport path, a multi-fed document for which the multi-feed is detected and then temporarily stops the transport, stores multi-fed page information indicating a page number of the multi-fed document, restarts the transport after the temporary stop, and after the reading unit reads a remaining document whose page succeeds a page of the multi-fed document, performs a re-reading process including the transporting and the reading of the multi-fed document, respectively, and inserts, based on the multi-fed page information, second read data acquired by the reading in the re-reading process into first read data acquired by the reading completed before the re-reading process.

A system and method for maintaining safe social distancing during device operation comprises a multifunction peripheral configured to scan or print a tangible document. A camera captures electronic images of two or more people proximate to the multifunction peripheral. A processor determines a relative distance between the people in accordance with captured electronic images and generates an alarm when a determined relative distance is less than a predetermined alarm threshold distance. The processor disables operation of the multifunction peripheral when the determined relative distance is less than the predetermined alarm threshold distance.

An information processing apparatus includes an image processing section that executes image processing, the operation control section that controls an operation of the information processing apparatus in any of two or more operation states including at least a first operation state, in which operations by all functions of the information processing apparatus are possible, and a second operation state in which operations by some functions of the information processing apparatus are limited, and the data processing section that executes specific data processing, which does not involve the image processing by the image processing section, in a case where the operation control section performs control in the second operation state.
