An image processing apparatus capable of performing a plurality of pieces of image processing including scan processing of a document in parallel with a scanner unit. In the scan processing, when the document is conveyed, the scanner unit receives a first instruction for setting a transfer rate and sets the transfer rate based on the first instruction, and when the image data is transferred, the scanner unit receives a second instruction for setting the transfer rate. When the transfer rate indicated by the first instruction and the transfer rate indicated by the second instruction are different, the image data is transmitted after changing the transfer rate, based on the second instruction. When the transfer rate indicated by the first instruction and the transfer rate indicated by the second instruction are identical, the image data is transmitted without changing the transfer rate set based on the first instruction.

Reading apparatus, control method and storage medium storing program thereof

When a reading target object that includes a light emitting region is set as a reading target, the light emitting region is detected by a reading mechanism of a reading unit. The reading unit is caused to read the detected light emitting region, and in the reading, a read operation by the reading unit is controlled based on change of an amount of light received from the light emitting region.

Scan-based imaging with variable scan speed using predictions of region-of-interest positions

A method and system for obtaining an image of object, for example an optical section of a sample, are disclosed. The image includes a plurality of scan lines to be acquired. The method includes, for a current one of the scan lines to be acquired, a step of determining positions of one or more predicted regions of interest along the current scan line based on at least one previously acquired predictive scan line. The method also includes a step of acquiring the current scan line along a scan path in accordance with a variable scan speed profile including at least one slower speed component along segments of the scan path corresponding to the positions of the one or more predicted regions of interest and at least one faster speed component elsewhere along the scan path.

Printer with two scanners

A printer (300) is disclosed. The printer has two scanners (336, 338) in the paper path of the printer located after the print zone (346). The two scanners are spaced apart from each other by a known distance A and overlap each other in a direction perpendicular to the media axis of travel. The two scanners capture a first and second image of the media.

Image reading apparatus having multiple reading operations

An image reading apparatus includes a reading portion that reads an image on a target object; a motor that cause the reading portion to move; and a control portion that controls the reading portion and the motor. Further, in a case where the motor does not enter a step-out state, the control portion executes a first reading operation that causes the reading portion to read the image simultaneously with causing the motor to cause the reading portion to move at a high speed, and in a case where the motor enters the step-out state, the control portion executes a second reading operation that causes the reading portion to read the image simultaneously with causing the motor to cause the reading portion to move at a low speed, and generates image data having a resolution lower than a high resolution corresponding to the low speed.
