Methods and systems for securing a portable storage device connected to a universal serial bus (USB) port of a multi-function device
The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for securing a portable storage device connected to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port of a mufti-function device. The method includes determining if the portable storage device is unattended at the multi-function device for a pre-defined time. Based on the determination, a retraction assembly is activated to secure the portable storage device inside the multi-function device. Once the retraction assembly is activated, the retraction process starts where the portable storage device is retracted to a first position within the multi-function device. Then, the portable storage device is moved from the first position to a second position within the multi-function device. Thereafter, the portable storage device is detached, in the second position, from the USB port to a container of the retraction assembly to secure the portable storage device.
Photoelectric conversion device, photoelectric conversion method, and image forming apparatus
A photoelectric conversion device includes a generation circuit and a controller. The generation circuit generates an image signal according to an intensity of light being input. The controller controls the generation circuit to generate a dark-time image signal equivalent to an image signal generated by the generation circuit without exposure to external light.
Image reading apparatus and method for controlling an image reading apparatus
A continuous reading mode is a mode in which reading of a document placed on a contact glass is continued and a job is started after completion of reading is accepted. In reading of the second and subsequent sheets of the document in a set reading range, a reading controller does not move the position of the reading line of an image sensor to outside the end position of the reading range in the sub-scanning direction as seen from a home position.
Image recording apparatus
In an image recording apparatus, a peak load that is the highest load applied to a carriage moving in a first direction in a first load region is highest at a first highest-load position. A second load is highest at a second highest-load position of a second load region. In a retry processing, when a stop position of the carriage which is detected by a detector is located between the first highest-load position and the second highest-load position, the controller moves the carriage in the first direction toward a target position after moving the carriage from the stop position in a second direction to a first retry position located downstream of a restoration position in the first direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD
In accordance with an embodiment, an image forming apparatus comprises a main scanning counter, a controller, and an interval determination section. The main scanning counter counts a first count value indicating the number of times a synchronization signal for synchronization between the apparatuses is input to itself, and registers the first count value to an initial value if a main scanning reference signal indicating a progress state of exposure in a main scanning direction is input to itself. The controller generates PreHSYNC generated at the same interval as the main scanning reference signal. The interval determination section determines that an abnormality occurs in the main scanning reference signal if the first count value satisfies a predetermined condition at a timing at which the PreHSYNC is input to itself.
Image forming system and reading device
An image forming system includes an image forming device, a reading device and a hardware processor. The image forming device includes an image former that forms an image on a sheet. The reading device includes a line sensor and a lens unit. The line sensor reads the sheet with the image formed, thereby obtaining a read image. The lens unit includes a plurality of lenses and forms an image of the sheet on the line sensor. The hardware processor identifies a sheet region of the sheet in the read image, and corrects a magnification of each subregion in a main scanning direction of the sheet region according to a characteristic of a portion in the main scanning direction of the lens unit, the portion having being used in forming an image of the subregion on the line sensor.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus, including: an image signal generating portion configured to generate an image signal as bit data obtained by splitting image data by a predetermined integer value for each pixel; a first storage portion configured to store a profile indicating magnification correction data for each of a plurality of regions in a main scanning direction; and a second storage portion configured to store a partial magnification granularity being a size of a processing unit used for splitting a partial magnification correction start value, wherein the image signal generating portion calculates a split region boundary address indicating a main scanning position at which a scanning region on the surface of a photosensitive member to be scanned by a light beam is split in the main scanning direction for each partial magnification granularity based on the partial magnification correction start value extracted from the profile and the partial magnification granularity.
