Imaging devices are disclosed. In one example, an imaging device includes a pixel array with light-receiving pixels that are separated pixel lines, and that accumulating electric charge in an accumulation period. An exposure controller sets time lengths of the accumulation such that the time lengths repeat in predetermined order. The accumulation period includes a first accumulation period and a second accumulation period each having a first time length, and a third accumulation period and a fourth accumulation period each having a second time length. A processor generates image data by adding pixel values based on the accumulation result in a first pixel line in the first accumulation period, the accumulation result in a second pixel line in the second accumulation period, the accumulation result in the first pixel line in the third accumulation period, and the accumulation result in the second pixel line in the fourth accumulation period.

READING APPARATUS

A reading apparatus, having a document tray, an ejection tray, a conveyer path connecting the document tray and the ejection tray and having a curved section, a conveyer to convey an original document in a conveying orientation, a first reading sensor, and a second reading sensor, is provided. The first reading sensor is located upstream in the conveying orientation from the curved section in the conveyer path. The first reading sensor optically reads a first side of the original document from below. The second reading sensor is located upstream in the conveying orientation from the first reading sensor in the conveyer path. The second reading sensor optically reads a second side of the original document from below. The first side and the second side are sides of the original document that face upward and downward, respectively, in the state where an original document is placed on the document tray.

An image reading device includes a placement section, a reader, an authentication control section, and a reading control section. A document and an identification medium are placed on the placement section. The reader reads the document and the identification medium and generates image data. The authentication control section performs authentication of a user based on image data of the identification medium and generates authentication information that indicates a result of authentication of the user. The reading control section controls the reader. The reading control section controls the reader to read the document after generating the image data of the identification medium. The authentication control section starts authentication of the user after the image data of the identification medium is generated.

IMAGE READING DEVICE, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

An image reading device includes linear image sensors that are arranged so that adjacent image sensors include an overlapping region in which portions of reading regions of the adjacent image sensors overlap in a main scanning direction, and a buffer unit for read image data. Image data of each overlapping region are generated by synthesizing first image data obtained by a first linear image sensor and second image data obtained by a second linear sensor, the first linear image sensor and the second linear sensor being adjacent in the main scanning direction. Image data of the predetermined line is generated based on image data in which the image data of each overlapping region are excluded from the image data stored in the buffer unit and the image data of each overlapping region. The processing is repeatedly executed in a sub-scanning direction.

A printing apparatus is provided. The printing apparatus includes a processing circuitry configured to generate embedding data to be embedded in a print image to be printed out; divide the print image into two or more areas, and embed the embedding data in each of the two or more areas in such a way that placement of the embedding data is identical in each of the areas; and output the print image in which the embedding data is embedded.

IMAGE CORRECTION DEVICE, IMAGE CORRECTION SYSTEM, IMAGE CORRECTION METHOD

A read sensor generates front side image information indicating an image on a front side of an object to be read, and front side measurement information indicating a line of an image in a main scanning direction on the front side of a correction chart. A read sensor generates back side image information indicating an image on a back side of the object to be read, and back side measurement information indicating a line of an image in the main scanning direction on the back side of the correction chart. The image correction device calculates an amount of misalignment of read positions based on the front side measurement information and the back side measurement information, and corrects misalignment of images on the front side and the back side of the object to be read, indicated by the front side image information and the back side image information.

Even from a plurality of small documents, their front-side and back-side images to be formed on a recording paper sheet, with alignment and coincidence of the front-side and back-side images of each document between the front and back sides of the recording paper sheet. In an image forming apparatus, an image processing section detects a front-side image of an original document from a scan area read in a first scan by an image reading section, detects a back-side image of the original document from a scan area read in a second scan, and moves or rotates the front-side image and the back-side image of the original document in terms of a whole image of the scan area so that the front-side image and the back-side image of the original document are brought into alignment and coincidence between a front side and a back side of a recording paper sheet.
