The image forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an authentication unit configured to perform authentication of a user; and a job management unit configured to perform printing processing by executing a saved print job, and in the case where the user is authenticated by the authentication unit, the job management unit executes a print job for which a first printing method is specified of print jobs associated with the user without receiving a selection by the user and executes a print job for which a second printing method is specified of print jobs associated with the user by receiving a selection by the user.

A printer multifunction system including a printer, a scanner, and a computer connected to a network, includes: a determination unit configured to determine whether to transmit data obtained by the reading of the scanner to any one of the printer and the computer on the basis of at least one of a state of the printer, a reading setting of the scanner, and a state of a memory storing the data; a control unit configured to read an original by the scanner and transmit data obtained by reading the original to a destination determined by the determination unit; and a printing execution unit configured to execute a printing operation by the printer on the basis of the data which is transmitted from the scanner by the control unit or the data which is transmitted to the computer, is temporarily stored in the computer, and is transmitted from the computer by the control unit.

A document reading device includes a reading section, an orientation detecting section, an orientation determining section, and a notification section. The reading section reads images of respective pages of a spread document one at a time. The orientation detecting section sequentially detects orientations of respective images read by the reading section. The orientation determining section determines whether or not the orientation detecting section detects orientation alternation between a first orientation and a second orientation opposite to the first orientation for a read image read by the reading section. The notification section notifies an error upon the orientation determining section determining that the orientation detecting section does not detect orientation alternation between the first orientation and the second orientation.

An image reading apparatus includes an image sensor to read a document, a sensor to detect whether the document is loaded on the image reading apparatus, and a processor to, when the sensor detects the document is loaded on the image reading apparatus, and before a scan instruction is input to the image reading apparatus, control the image sensor to execute a pre-scan job with respect to the loaded document using a default set value.

Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for reducing a perceived latency associated with uploading and annotating video data. For example, video data may be divided into video sections that are uploaded individually so that the video sections may be annotated as they are received. This reduces a latency associated with the annotation process, as a portion of the video data is annotated before an entirety of the video data is uploaded. In addition, the annotation data may be used to generate a master clip table and extract individual video clips from the video data.
