A set of sequential images are accessed. Measures of background stability across a set of images are determined, and the set of images is stabilized based on the determined measures. The images are cropped and stored in sequential order. A first image from the set of cropped images is displayed, and data indicating a change in orientation is received. Responsive to a determination that the change in orientation is associated with forward progress, an image after the first image in the set of sequential images is displayed. Responsive to a determination that the change in orientation is associated with backward progress, an image before the first image in the set of sequential images is displayed. The set of images can include a selected face of an individual and can be ordered chronologically, allowing a user to view older and younger images of the individual when navigating the set of images.

A software routine detects a user selection of an icon on a touch screen of a portable digital image capturing device to communicate a digital image over a wireless network to a destination, and detects a selection of the digital image. The software routine further filters the digital image, identifies a user, and communicates the filtered digital image over the wireless network to the destination.

In the image processing device, method and system of the present invention, a destination identifier of an image file is stored, the destination identifier indicating one of a plurality of external stations as a destination station which receives the image file from the image processing device through a network. At least one of a sender identifier of the image file, a subject identifier of the image file and a scan condition of the image file is stored. The image file is transmitted, together with at least one of the sender identifier, the subject identifier and the scan condition, through the network to one of the external stations indicated by the stored destination identifier.

An image forming apparatus includes: a reception unit that receives, from another apparatus, data for replication of a function of storing data in a preset storage area; a validation unit that validates restriction information for controlling execution of the function if the data for replication received by the reception unit includes information indicating that plural networks are set in the storage area in which the data is to be stored by the function; and a restriction unit that restricts execution of the function if the execution of the function is instructed and the restriction information is validated.

An image forming apparatus includes: a reception unit that receives, from another apparatus, data for replication of a function of storing data in a preset storage area; a validation unit that validates restriction information for controlling execution of the function if the data for replication received by the reception unit includes information indicating that plural networks are set in the storage area in which the data is to be stored by the function; and a restriction unit that restricts execution of the function if the execution of the function is instructed and the restriction information is validated.

In the image processing device, method and system of the present invention, a destination identifier of an image file is stored, the destination identifier indicating one of a plurality of external stations as a destination station which receives the image file from the image processing device through a network. At least one of a sender identifier of the image file, a subject identifier of the image file and a scan condition of the image file is stored. The image file is transmitted, together with at least one of the sender identifier, the subject identifier and the scan condition, through the network to one of the external stations indicated by the stored destination identifier.

If an operation to switch a first display mode to a second display mode is performed by a user, a display size of an image that is displayed in the first display mode is compared with a minimum display size that is associated with the second display mode. If the display size of the image that is displayed in the first display mode is smaller than the minimum display size in the second display mode, the display size is changed into the minimum display size in the second display mode and the image is displayed on the display screen in a changed display size.

An image printing apparatus includes a printer assembly, a control panel configured to receive a user input, a memory, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive first data from a first data source such as a PC external to the printer assembly, store the first data in the memory, and control the printer assembly to print a first image based on the first data stored in the memory. In response to a first user input received from the control panel during the print of the first image, the controller is configured to receive second data from a second data source such as a scanner assembly, and store the second data in the memory during the print of the first image.

A system and method for simplified scanning of tangible documents commences with scanning them into electronic documents on an MFP. The MFP controller generates a scan command indicia and commences a scan when it is selected by a user. A processor in the controller generates an electronic document file from the scan operation associatively with a scan folder file and generates scan folder file indicia on a display and electronic document indicia corresponding to each electronic document file in the scan folder. A user selects a document and specifies instructions for processing the document which is completed by the processor.

If an operation to switch a first display mode to a second display mode is performed by a user, a display size of an image that is displayed in the first display mode is compared with a minimum display size that is associated with the second display mode. If the display size of the image that is displayed in the first display mode is smaller than the minimum display size in the second display mode, the display size is changed into the minimum display size in the second display mode and the image is displayed on the display screen in a changed display size.
