11700342 · 2023-07-11 · ·

Systems and methods for dynamically and automatically generating digital watermarks are provided. Watermark payloads utilized in generating the digital watermarks are altered based upon changing conditions, such as environmental characteristics associated with playback or distribution of media content. Changing conditions may also encompass a change in the distribution/presentation chain of devices associated with the playback or distribution of the media content.

AUTOMATED CALIBRATION AND OPTIMIZED PATCH SET CREATION FOR VOID PANTOGRAPH
20220398419 · 2022-12-15 ·

Methods and systems for creating a security mark for a document. A first generation print can be rendered based on one or more patterns (e.g., pantograph pattern) for a security mark. Post-copy results of the pattern(s) can be then rendered. The first generation print and the post-copy results of the pattern(s) can be calibrated, and the output of the calibration of the first generation print and the post-copy results are then applicable for optimizing the design of the security mark for a print condition. Optimization of the design of the security mark for the print condition can be implemented by applying the output of the calibrating of the first generation print and the post-copy results for the print condition. The first generation prints and post-copy results of pantograph pattern samples can be calibrated to drastically reduce the time and labor involved in optimizing void pantograph designs for a particular print condition.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: receive an electronic document generated while maintaining text information by an application program or an electronic document generated by reading an image with a document reading apparatus; perform type determination as to whether the received electronic document including a portion representing a text is generated by the application program or generated by the document reading apparatus; and determine based on a result of the type determination whether an optical character recognition process is to be performed on the electronic document.

Print content auditing during printer redirection in virtual desktop environments
11494139 · 2022-11-08 · ·

Techniques are described for auditing print content during printer redirection in a virtual desktop. The ability to audit redirected print content allows an organization to pre-define certain sensitive data and to track whether print redirection requests in the virtual desktop environment contain any such sensitive data. If such sensitive data is contained in a printer redirection request, a file is generated containing information about the sensitive data, as well as a watermark that encodes information about the printer redirection request, such the user identifier of the user who initiated the print request and a timestamp of when the print request occurred. The generated file is transmitted to one or more registered recipients.

COMPUTER IMPLEMENTED METHOD FOR EMBEDDING A MARKER IN AN IMAGE OR VIDEO CONTENT AND CORRESPONDING MARKER DETECTION METHOD
20230132234 · 2023-04-27 · ·

A computer implemented method for embedding a marker in an image or video content including receiving an input image or frame for embedding, determining a binary message to be encoded within said input image or frame comprising bits sequences having an identical number of bits which is superior or equal to two, said binary message comprising at least a header part comprising at least two consecutive bits sequences which are not identical, detecting a region within said input image or frame such that the color within said region is uniform and that said region presents a chosen length and height, associating each possible bits sequence to a corresponding encoding color determined from the color within said uniform region and an encoding rule such that the respective colors are all different from one another, and generating a marker color table in which each element stores an encoding color associated to a bits sequence of the binary message, such that the color table constitutes a color encoding of the binary message, and embedding said marker in said region by appending directionally pixel blocks comprising at least a chosen number of pixels in an appending direction, the pixels within a given pixel block being each colored with the encoding color of an element of the marker color table, each element of the marker color table being associated with at least one pixel block.

PDF EMBEDDER FOR ARTWORK ELEMENTS WITH PDF FILES
20220385783 · 2022-12-01 ·

The present disclosure relates generally to signal encoding for elements within PDF files. One implementation encodes an artwork element under different encoding conditions, and selects a winner version based on resulting signal robustness and/or visibility. Other implementations generate PDF layer masks to help determine overall embedding robustness, including interference from layered elements. Other implementations are provided too.

Vision sensor dynamic watermarking via noise characterization

Vision sensor dynamic watermarking via noise characterization are disclosed herein. An example device can capture an image by a first device, where the image comprising a pixel group has baseline noise characterization caused by a base noise profile for the first device. The device can produce a noise watermark to create a watermarked image, where the noise watermark can be produced by altering the baseline noise characterization to produce modified noise characterization. The device can also transmit the watermarked image to a receiver.

PROVING DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPH AUTHORSHIP USING ECG BIOMETRICS
20170353624 · 2017-12-07 ·

Techniques for proving digital photograph authorship using ECG biometrics are described. Electrodes are located on the exterior of a digital camera and are electrically coupled to an ECG circuit. When a photographer holds the camera with both hands, the electrodes detect electrical voltages from the photographer's hands and the ECG circuit produces a digital ECG signal. When the photographer uses the digital camera to capture a photograph, the camera's stenographic engine uses a stenographic key to embedded the ECG signal into the raw image file, producing a watermarked image. The camera's cryptographic engine uses a cryptographic key to encrypt the watermarked image to produce an encrypted image. If a dispute arises regarding authorship of the photograph, the stenographic and cryptographic engines convert the encrypted image into the raw image file and the photographer's ECG signals, which are compared to the ECG signals of the disputed author(s).
