The information processing apparatus executes a predetermined workflow including a component whose usage history is to be counted, transmits to a user terminal through a communication network, count target contract input screen information for displaying a count target contract input screen on a display of the user terminal, the count target contract input screen associating a predetermined count target contract with the predetermined workflow, in response to an operation on the count target contract input screen displayed on the display of the user terminal based on the count target contract input screen information, associates the predetermined workflow with predetermined count target contract information indicating the predetermined count target contract, and in response to an execution of the predetermined workflow, counts the usage history of the component included in the predetermined workflow in association with the predetermined count target contract.

An information processing system includes a vehicle and an information processing apparatus. The vehicle that includes an image capturing device and that delivers a package. The information processing apparatus that includes a processor configured to determine, in a case where a recipient is not present at a delivery destination of the package, reception of the package by a substitute person present at a residence different from that of the recipient. The vehicle captures the substitute person receiving the package, with the image capturing device. The processor is configured to transmit, in a case where reception of the package by the substitute person is completed, captured data of the image capturing device to a user terminal associated with the recipient. The vehicle is an autonomous vehicle.

An image processing system that is capable of retrying transmission of image data without limiting execution of other jobs in an image processing apparatus. An instruction to execute a job which reads an original, generates image data of the original, and sends the image data to a user-specified destination, is received from a user. An information processing apparatus generates a command for executing the job and sends the command to the image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus executes the job based on the command. When sending of the image data to the user-specified destination is unsuccessful, the image processing apparatus sends the image data to the information processing apparatus. In accordance with an instruction received from the user, the information processing apparatus sends the image data to the user-specified destination.

An image reading apparatus includes an imaging device, a first communication device capable of communicating at a first communication speed according to a first communication protocol, a second communication device capable of communicating at a second communication speed lower than the first communication speed according to a second communication protocol different from the first communication protocol, a first processor to separately transmit a first image acquired by imaging a first surface of a medium by the imaging device, and a second image acquired by imaging a second surface of the medium by the imaging device, via the first communication device, and a second processor to transmit a combined image acquired by combining the first image and the second image via the second communication device.

A measurement image management system acquires identification information to identify a selected image from a plurality of measurement images, presents the identification information to a plurality of user terminals such that the identification information is selectable, and transmits, to a user terminal that has received an input operation for image transmission among the plurality of user terminals, the selected image corresponding to the selected identification information based on the input operation for the image transmission on any one of the plurality of user terminals.

A multifunction peripheral stores normal user information for executing user authentication in and an auxiliary storage. The multifunction peripheral has a quick login mode for simple authentication. When registering a new user in the quick login mode, the CPU determines whether a login name in the normal user information of an existing user matches a login name of the new user. Performing optical mark recognition (OMR) scanning includes receiving a first substrate to be scanned, the first substrate having one or more colors visible to a human eye and bearing user-made marks; scanning the first substrate using a plurality of colors of light emitted from a light sensor to simultaneously generate both (a) first image data representing a visual appearance of the first substrate, and (b) first OMR data corresponding to respective locations of the user-made marks on the first substrate; transmitting from a first page buffer at least a portion of the first image data and/or at least a portion of the first OMR data; receiving a second substrate to be scanned; and during the transmitting from the first page buffer, simultaneously scanning the second substrate.

A multifunction peripheral stores normal user information for executing user authentication in and an auxiliary storage. The multifunction peripheral has a quick login mode for simple authentication. When registering a new user in the quick login mode, the CPU determines whether a login name in the normal user information of an existing user matches a login name of the new user. When the two login names match, the user is allowed to select whether to associate the new user with the existing user. When selected to associate the new user with the existing user, the quick user information of the new user including the first management information and the second management information is generated using at least user ID in the normal user information of the existing user, the first management information is stored in the auxiliary storage, and the second management information is stored in a main storage.

An information processing system, including an information processing apparatus communicable with a device, includes circuitry configured to receive, from the device, identification information identifying a service providable by the information processing apparatus, transmit, to the device, a process execution request to implement the service of activating an imaging function of the device, and causing the device to upload the image data captured by using the imaging function to the information processing apparatus, the service corresponding to the identification information, and store the image data captured using the imaging function in a memory.

An information processing apparatus connected to one or more user terminals including a first user terminal installed at a place of a social group, via a communication network, includes: a storage that stores social group attribute information that associates a unique ID uniquely identifying the first user terminal with attribute information pertaining to the social group where the first user terminal assigned the unique ID is installed; and a hardware processor, wherein the hardware processor obtains information pertaining to the first user terminal and including the unique ID, the information having been transmitted from the first user terminal, obtains the attribute information pertaining to the social group associated in the storage with the unique ID transmitted from the first user terminal, and identifies a social group attribute of the user of the first user terminal.
