An apparatus and method for saving power in an office machine having a display panel are provided. The method comprises setting the apparatus in an operation standby mode, detecting whether an error exists in the apparatus and turning on the display panel to display the error thereon when the error is detected. Furthermore, the apparatus keeps the display panel in an off state when the error is not detected. Thus, the exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide a power saving method of an office machine which prevents unnecessary power consumption during an operation of an office machine having a display panel.

A document conveyance apparatus includes a document conveyance section, a cover, an opening and closing detection sensor, a document detection sensor, and a control section. The control section detects opening and closing of the cover on the basis of an output value of the opening and closing detection sensor and detects whether or not there is a document in a predetermined detection position on the basis of the output value of the document detection sensor. If, when the output value of the document detection sensor has changed from a value indicating an opened state of the cover to a value indicating a closed state thereof, the output value of the document detection sensor is a value indicating that there is the document, the control section detects a half-closed state where the cover is not completely closed.

An image forming system including plural image forming apparatuses, being tandemly-arranged, and forming an image while assigning an area of a recording sheet, wherein each individual image forming apparatus including a display section which is configured to display various information and a control section which is configured to detect connecting positions of each individual image forming apparatus in the image forming system, and to control each individual display section to display a typical information based on detected results.

An image forming device in the apparatus is configured to form an image on the sheet. A controller in the apparatus is configured to determine whether a writing of data to a wireless tag was successful based on a notification from the wireless tag communication device and generate investigation support information if the writing was not successful and control the image forming device to form an investigation support image corresponding to the investigation support information if the writing was not successful.

An image processing apparatus includes a display device and a processor. In the second power mode, the number of sheets that the printing apparatus can print is calculated based on the remaining battery level of the battery and an amount of power supplied from the external power supply.
