A non-transitory storage medium stores a plurality of instructions readable by a computer of an information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus comprises a communication interface for connecting to a scanner. The information processing apparatus includes a first route and a second route. When executed by the computer, the plurality of instructions cause the information processing apparatus to execute a scan control using the first route in which a read result of a document by the scanner is obtained by using the first route after receiving an execution instruction for scanning, determine whether the scan control using the first route has failed or not, and execute a scan control using the second route in which the read result of the document by the scanner is obtained by using the second route when it is determined that the scan control using the first route has failed.

An image forming apparatus includes a wireless tag communication device to write data to, and read data from, a wireless tag attached to a sheet. An image forming device in the apparatus is configured to form an image on the sheet. A controller in the apparatus is configured to determine whether a writing of data to a wireless tag was successful based on a notification from the wireless tag communication device and generate investigation support information if the writing was not successful and control the image forming device to form an investigation support image corresponding to the investigation support information if the writing was not successful.

An apparatus includes circuitry to receive an input of problem information that is information on a problem, transmit the problem information to an information processing apparatus communicably connected to the apparatus via a network, and receive, from the information processing apparatus, troubleshooting information corresponding to the problem information. The troubleshooting information is information for solving the problem. The circuitry outputs the troubleshooting information, and transmits, to an extraneous resource, a repair request including the problem information and information indicating whether the troubleshooting information has been output.

An image processing apparatus includes: a first hardware processor that sets cooperative processing including first processing and second processing that cooperate with each other in a server that provides a service that determines the cooperative processing; a second hardware processor that receives a command to execute the first processing; a third hardware processor that generates alternative processing in place of the first processing in a case where it is detected that the command cannot be received after the cooperative processing has been set; and a fourth hardware processor that executes the alternative processing.

A method of performing error notification and error recovery functions in an image forming apparatus includes detecting by one or more sub-processors an error of a main processor for controlling the sub-processors; controlling an interface function of the image forming apparatus if the error is detected; outputting information about the detected error; and recovering the detected error by controlling an operation of the main processor.

A printer for use in an image forming system including a local area network (LAN) interface for communicating with a server, a printer engine, and an operation unit includes a control unit including a central processing unit (CPU) and a memory such as a random access memory (RAM), and the control unit is capable of performing processing to store a server printing setting flag and notification processing to perform notification to prompt a user to give a setting instruction if an internal time is detected to be initialized and the server printing setting flag is stored.
