The invention relates to a method for scanning originals using a scanner, for example a flatbed scanner, said method comprising the steps of: (i) performing a pre-scan using a scanner bed (2) of the scanner, said scanner bed (2) having an extension in the x-direction and in the y-direction, in order to measure an x-extension (4) between a smallest (4a) and a largest extension value (4b) in the x-direction and to measure a y-extension (6) between a smallest (6a) and a largest extension value (6b) in the y-direction in respect of each of the originals on the scanner bed (2), and creating scanning frames (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6) associated with the originals from the respectively measured extension values, (ii) specifying the scanning frame (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6) with the largest y-extension (6) as the leading frame (R4), (iii) defining as subsequent frames (R3, R5) those which are located with their y-extension within a section (10) of the scanning bed which is spanned in the y-direction by the smallest and the largest extension value of the y-extension of the leading frame, (iv) creating an image processing dataset from said section, its leading frame and its subsequent frames, (v) registering said image processing dataset in a list of image processing datasets, (vi) performing steps (ii) to (v), without taking into account the scanning frames already existing in an image processing dataset, until all the scanning frames measured in step (i) are included in an image processing dataset, (vii) capturing image data by scanning the sections of the image processing datasets registered in the list, (viii) cropping the image data of originals from the captured image data along the scanning frame, and (ix) storing the cropped image data of the originals.

The present disclosure relates to a method and a device for transmitting an image, which improve display effect of the image. The method includes receiving an image with a first resolution from a source terminal; sending a request for obtaining the image to a server according to an identifier of the image; and receiving the image with a second resolution from the server, wherein the second resolution is higher than the first resolution.

An image forming apparatus includes a document conveyance portion, an image reading portion that performs feed reading-in in which a document as conveyed is read or table reading-in in which a document on a table is read, a job execution portion that, based on image data, performs a job, an operation panel that accepts setting of a destination, and a control portion. In a continuous read-in mode, the control portion performs control so that reading-in of a document as placed is continuously performed until an input to end reading-in is made. When an automatic continuous read-in condition is satisfied, the control portion performs control so that the image reading portion and the job execution portion automatically operate in the continuous read-in mode. The automatic continuous read-in condition is that table reading-in has been started in a state where a destination corresponding to a particular transmission method is set.

An image reception apparatus including a reception unit that receives a first image from an image transmission apparatus and a transmission unit that transmits information on an attention area designated by a user in the first image to the image transmission apparatus. When the transmission unit transmits the information to the image transmission apparatus, the reception unit receives, from the image transmission apparatus, the first image together with one or more partial images corresponding to the attention area and constituting a second image of a resolution higher than a resolution of the first image.

An image reading device includes storage, an image reading section, a receiving section, a display section, and a controller. The storage stores therein a plurality of barcode types and designation information items each associated with any of the barcode types. The image reading section acquires a read image by reading a document image including a barcode image. The receiving section receives input of a designation information item among the designation information items. The display section displays one or more barcode types among the barcode types. The controller controls the storage, the receiving section, and the display section. The barcode image exhibits a barcode belonging to any of the one or more barcode types. The controller causes the display section to display the one or more barcode types on the basis of the designation information item received by the receiving section and associated with the one or more barcode types.

An image reception apparatus including a reception unit that receives a first image from an image transmission apparatus and a transmission unit that transmits information on an attention area designated by a user in the first image to the image transmission apparatus. A controller executes a mode in an image forming apparatus in which an image is formed on a sheet by an image forming portion even if a sheet size included in an image forming job is inconsistent with a sheet size stored in the storage portion. In such a mode, the controller executes an operation by which an image having an orientation corresponding to a sheet orientation stored in the storage portion is formed on the sheet if a sheet orientation included in the image forming job is inconsistent with the sheet orientation stored in the storage portion.

The present disclosure provides an image forming apparatus configured to output an image in an orientation expected by a user. A controller can execute a mode in which an image is formed on a sheet by an image forming portion even if a sheet size included in the image forming job is inconsistent with a sheet size stored in the storage portion. In such a mode, the controller executes an operation by which an image having an orientation corresponding to a sheet orientation stored in the storage portion is formed on the sheet if a sheet orientation included in the image forming job is inconsistent with the sheet orientation stored in the storage portion.

An original is read, image data is generated, image data of a set transmission resolution is generated based on the generated image data, printing is performed based on the generated image data, a transmission instruction is accepted, and image data of a set transmission resolution is transmitted in accordance with the accepted transmission instruction.
