An IP address assigned to the information processing apparatus is stored. Execution data for executing a job is received from the external apparatus. When the IP address assigned to the information processing apparatus is a global IP address that is for use in the communications using the public network, a setting is made to restrict execution of the execution data.

An imaging device having a controller, a raster image processor and a print engine including methods for reducing wear in one or more components of the imaging device, the print engine including instructions for receiving a start command indicating receipt of a print job, determining whether a previous print job is processed successfully following receipt of the print job, and upon a negative determination, waiting for a print command prior processing each page of the print job to adjust a default printing performance of the imaging device and to reduce component wear in the imaging device as a result of adjusting the printing performance.

According to an aspect of the invention, an image processing apparatus includes: a receiving unit that receives a transfer request, which contains an identifier for identification of an image object, a size of image data obtained by resizing the image object, a transfer starting point of the image data, and a transfer end point of the image data, from an information processing apparatus, a generating unit that generates the image data from the image object based on the transfer request, and a transfer unit that transfers the image data from the transfer starting point to the transfer end point to the information processing apparatus based on the transfer request.

A receiver receives signals and noise over a frequency spectrum of a desired received signal. The desired received signal is spread using code division multiple access. The received signals and noise are demodulated to produce a demodulated signal. The demodulated signal is despread using a code uncorrelated with a code associated with the desired received signal. A power level of the despread demodulated signal is measured as an estimate of the noise level of the frequency spectrum.
