The printing system stores a plurality of print jobs in a storage, and receives selections of two or more print jobs to be executed as two or more target jobs from among the plurality of print jobs stored in the storage. The printing system determines a total fee to be charged for executing the two or more target jobs, and performs a settlement related process related to settlement of the determined total fee. The printing system executes the two or more target jobs to print images by using the printing mechanism in response to completion of settlement of the total fee.

A printing system includes: a printing device; and a data processing server. A first controller of the printing device is configured to perform: a reading process to read a reading target to generate image data; a determination process to determine whether to transmit the image data to the data processing server according to at least one of available capacity information and capacity-related information; and a data transmission process to transmit the image data to the data processing server. A second controller of the data processing server is configured to perform: a payment-related process related to a fee payment for printing based on the image data. The first controller is configured to further perform, after the fee payment is completed: an acquisition process to acquire print data corresponding to the image data; and a printing process to form an image corresponding to the print data on a printing medium.

An information processing apparatus includes a controller. The controller receives a first e-mail from an external device. The first e-mail has a print file attached thereto and is addressed to a device e-mail address assigned to a printing device. The controller determines a fee to be charged for image formation based on the attached print file. The controller generates a second e-mail including: a first amount that is the amount of the determined fee; and a first URL for a payment page for paying the first amount. The controller transmits the generated second e-mail to the external device in reply to the received first e-mail. After payment of the first amount is completed through access to the first URL included in the transmitted second e-mail, the controller transmits to the external device either print data based on the print file or storage destination information for the print data.

An image processing apparatus includes an acquisition section that acquires a document, a first extraction section that extracts elements that need processing regarding copyrights from elements constituting the acquired document, a second extraction section that extracts use conditions of the extracted elements, a first presenting unit that presents at least part of the extracted use conditions, a receiving section that receives designation of wanted and unwanted elements among the extracted elements, a second presenting section that presents a total fee obtained by adding fees indicated by use conditions of the wanted elements to a fee for outputting the document, and an output section that, in response to payment of the total fee, outputs the edited document. In the edited document, the unwanted elements have been edited to comply with the use conditions.

A printing method performed by an image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus receives job information of content, and generates payment amount information based on the job information of the content. The image forming apparatus receives payment method information from a user, and generates billing information by using the payment amount information and the payment method information. The image forming apparatus transmits the billing information to a payment system.

An information processing apparatus includes: a processor configured to: in response to acquiring a first identification output from a different information processing apparatus, perform control of execution of a first process; in response to completion of the first process, perform control to cause the different information processing apparatus to output a second identification for executing a second process; and in response to acquiring the second identification output from the different information processing apparatus, perform control of execution of the second process.

An image forming apparatus includes a management application and a common application. The management application manages a counter. The common application is other than the management application. The management application causes the image forming apparatus to function as: a counter managing unit that manages the counter that counts a count of executions of specific processing by the common application; and an execution count unit that counts the count of executions using the counter managed by the counter managing unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a printer, a drawing data generating circuit, and a medium feeding circuit. The drawing data generating circuit generates, from print data, drawing data that causes the printer to execute a print job. The medium feeding circuit feeds the print medium to the printer. The medium feeding circuit executes: a first feeding stage in which the print medium moves to a specific position; and a second feeding stage in which the print medium moves from the specific position to the printer. A printing system includes a company server and a printing apparatus. The printing apparatus is used in business-use printing and private-use printing. The printing apparatus includes: a printing section performing printing on a medium by using a printing agent; and a waste agent collecting section collecting as a waste agent, the portion of the printing agent that is consumed by the printing section but is discarded without being used in printing on the medium. The printing system includes a determination section and an estimation section. The determination section determines whether the printing agent as the waste agent is discarded in business-use printing or private-use printing. The estimation section estimates an amount of printing agent determined by the determination section to be discarded in business-use printing.

In an information processing system including an information processing server and a multifunction machine, the information processing server transmits print instruction information instructing printing of teaching material content and an answerer ID to the multifunction machine. Upon receiving the print instruction information, the multifunction machine generates teaching material content printed material, reads a print surface of answered teaching material content printed material, and transmits read data corresponding to a read image. The information processing server acquires the answerer ID from the received read data and performs processing for providing the read image for a terminal device of a person concerned having a predetermined relationship with an answerer having the acquired answerer ID.
