An electronic device and a method for processing an image by the electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention are provided. The method may comprise: generating password information for a first image using security information of a user; changing the first image to a second image using the generated password information; and transmitting the second image and the password information in response to a transmission request of the first image. Various other embodiments may be available.

Provided is a document management system that appropriately performs management of paper documents even in a case where there is a change in the storage conditions and the like of paper documents. A server causes an image forming apparatus to output a management label. A worker enters items necessary for management in this management label, after which the label is attached to a package including paper documents (documents) that is a target of management, and the package is stored in this state. A portable terminal that can capture an image of the management label on the package in a stored state is used. The portable terminal and the image forming apparatus may perform an exchange of data via a network, short distance communication, or the like. This data includes image data (imaging data) acquired by capturing an image of the management label, and storage location information indicating the storage location of the package.

An original has a first pattern on and a second pattern, and the first pattern and the second pattern include relatively lighter markings within a relatively darker background. The relatively lighter markings appear at a first spacing interval in the first pattern, and at a larger second spacing interval in the second pattern. The first pattern and the second pattern cover and equally block a region of the original from reflecting ultraviolet light. A scanner is only capable of detecting patterns of markings having a spacing interval larger than the first spacing interval, which causes a copy of the original to not include the relatively lighter markings appearing at the first spacing interval. Thus, the copy lacks markings at locations corresponding to where the relatively lighter markings appear at the first spacing interval in the original. The copy reflects the ultraviolet light more where the copy lacks markings.

A printer and method for printing a secure document are disclosed. For example, the printer includes a controller for receiving an indication that a print job contains the secure document, a lock on a printer door, wherein the lock is electrically coupled to the controller, wherein the lock is engaged by the controller after receiving the indication that the print job contains the secure document and the lock is disengaged when the print job is completed successfully and a user interface in communication with the controller for receiving a security code to disengage the lock when print job is interrupted due to an error.

An electronic device and a method for processing an image by the electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention are provided. The method may comprise: generating password information for a first image using security information of a user; changing the first image to a second image using the generated password information; and transmitting the second image and the password information in response to a transmission request of the first image. Systems for controlling access to documents including sensitive information and/or sensitive information are provided. In some examples, a system, computing platform, or the like, may receive a command to print a document or generate a photocopy of a document. The computing platform may analyze the document to determine whether the document includes sensitive information. If not, a first ink source, first paper source, first output destination, or the like, may be identified for use in printing the document. If so, a second, different ink source, paper source, and/or output destination may be identified for use in printing the document. The computing platform may then transmit an instruction to the printing, copying, scanning, or the like, device to print the document using the identified ink source, paper source, and/or output destination.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a reading unit, a document cover and a lock part. The reading unit is provided on an upper portion of the apparatus main body in an openable and closable manner, and readable an image of a document. The document cover is provided on an upper portion of the reading unit in an openable and closable manner, and presses the document placed on the reading unit. The lock part holds one of the reading unit and the document cover in a closed state when the other of the reading unit and the document cover is in an opened state.

A printer and method for printing a secure document are disclosed. For example, the printer includes a controller for receiving an indication that a print job contains the secure document, a lock on a printer door, wherein the lock is electrically coupled to the controller, wherein the lock is engaged by the controller after receiving the indication that the print job contains the secure document and the lock is disengaged when the print job is completed successfully and a user interface in communication with the controller for receiving a security code to disengage the lock when print job is interrupted due to an error.

In methods and systems for generating secure verification documents are disclosed, a processor that is associated with a multifunction print device will receive one or more source electronic document files, each of which includes content of one or more source documents, each associated with a unique content creator. The processor will cause a print engine of a multifunction device to print a plurality of verification document sheets, each of which comprises data from at least one of the source documents and includes a unique identifier (ID). After printing each verification document sheet, the processor will cause a scanner of the multifunction device to scan the verification document sheet to capture a digital image of the verification document sheet. The processor will then save the digital images of the verification document sheets to a data store.
