Image display apparatus and image display method
An image display apparatus displays an image to be printed on a desired printing medium by using a desired printing apparatus. In this process, medium images corresponding to the tint of the printing medium illuminated with one of illumination light fluxes having a plurality of color temperatures are displayed on a specific display with the medium images associated with the color temperatures of the illumination light fluxes, and specification of one of the medium images or the color temperature associated with the medium image is accepted. When the specification is made, an illumination light flux reflecting image having the tint of the image printed on the printing medium by the printing apparatus and illuminated with the illumination light flux having the color temperature corresponding to the specification is displayed on the specific display.

The application relates to a method for controlling a printing process for printing a decorative target image on a substrate, comprising providing the decorative target image to be printed in the printing process by at least one decorative parameter data set, simulating the printing process in a simulation step based on the decorative parameter data set, at least one printing process parameter data set and stored historical printing data sets, such that a digital decorative image is generated, verifying the generated digital decorative image based on the decorative target image to be printed and at least one verification criterion, and if the verification criterion is met, outputting the printing process parameter data set used in the simulation step for performing the printing process.
Interactive Three-Dimensional (3D) Color Histograms
Techniques for interactively determining/visualizing the color content of a source image and how the corresponding image data is mapped to device colors are described herein. For example, the color content of a digital image can be converted between different color spaces to identify gamut limitations of an output device (e.g., a printing assembly), discover color(s) that cannot be accurately reproduced, etc. Color space conversions enable the transformation of the color content of the digital image from device-specific colorants to a device-independent representation (and vice versa). In some embodiments, these transformations are facilitated using lookup tables that are implemented in graphical processing unit-resident memory.
IMAGE CONVERSION METHOD
Provided is an image conversion method that allows for the representation, on a display, the light and shade of a printed image obtained by printing the image on paper. The image conversion method includes a step of acquiring an illumination-light component and a reflectance component from an input image, a step of correcting the illumination-light component in accordance with display luminance information of a print mode in which the input image is to be printed, so that light and shade of the input image displayed on a display come close to light and shade of a printed image obtained by printing the input image in the print mode, and a step of acquiring a combined image by combining the corrected illumination-light component and the reflectance component or the corrected reflectance component.

An image processing apparatus includes a normal print order setter, a multiple print order and base material setter, and a preview image generator. The normal print order setter is configured to set types of color materials used in printing document data on a base material, and order of overlaying of the color materials during printing. The multiple print order and base material setter is configured to set at least one of a number of repetitions of printing based on the types of color materials and the order of overlaying of the color materials and a type of base material. The preview image generator is configured to generate a preview image simulating a print result of the document data on a basis of information set by the normal print order setter and the multiple print order and base material setter.
