IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
An image processing apparatus comprises: an image forming unit configured to form an image on a recording medium using a plurality of color materials on the basis of first image data showing an image; and an estimating unit configured to estimate a characteristic of each one of the plurality of color materials in a target region on the formed image on the basis of second image data obtained by reading the formed image. The estimating unit selects an estimation processing unit to use from among a plurality of estimation processing units used for different estimation methods on the basis of a combination of the color materials in the target region.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus comprises an image forming unit; a sensor that measures a measurement image; and a controller. The controller controls the image forming condition based on a measurement result of measuring a first measurement image; acquires information having a correlation to density variation of images to be formed by the image forming unit; controls the image forming condition based on the information; determines a first value regarding a density of an image to be formed, based on a measurement result of measuring a second measurement image; determines a second value regarding a density of the image to be formed by the image forming unit, based on the information; and controls a timing at which the image forming unit next forms the first measurement image, based on the first value and the second value.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD
An image forming apparatus includes a memory and circuitry. The memory stores a colorimetric value of a gradation correction chart and environmental information each time of acquisition of the colorimetric value. The circuitry predicts an output characteristic of an image formed by the image forming apparatus based on the colorimetric value associated with particular environmental information among the environmental information stored in the memory, the particular environmental information being within a predetermined range with reference to current environmental information, when the image forming apparatus is to output the gradation correction chart. The circuitry adjusts the output characteristic of the image in a case that the predicted output characteristic is lower than a target output characteristic. The circuitry corrects a gradation correction table based on the colorimetric value of the gradation correction chart and the target output characteristic.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
An information processing apparatus configured to output information to a computing apparatus configured to generate a model for determining a density of an image to be formed by an image forming apparatus, the information processing apparatus includes: an acquisition unit configured to acquire pieces of log data each relating to a measurement result of an image formed by the image forming apparatus; a reception unit configured to receive information for specifying a piece of log data to be used for generation of the model among the pieces of log data acquired by the acquisition unit; and a transmission unit configured to transmit the information to the computing apparatus.
CALIBRATING PRINT APPARATUS
A print apparatus calibration method is disclosed. The method comprises printing, from each of a plurality of dies of a print head onto a printable substrate, an image in a first color according to a calibration pattern and an image in a second color according to the calibration pattern, the calibration pattern comprising a plurality of patches having a plurality of different densities. The method may comprise scanning, using a scanning unit, the images formed on the printable substrate to generate scanned image data, wherein the images in the first color are scanned by a first scanning module of the scanning unit and the images in the second color are scanned by a second scanning module of the scanning unit. The method may comprise analyzing, using processing apparatus, the scanned image data to identify any differences between printed densities of corresponding patches in different images of the same color. The method may comprise performing a calibration based on the analysis. A print apparatus and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.
PREDICTED PRINT MATERIAL USAGE ADJUSTMENT
The location of a printing device is determined. Environmental conditions in which the printing device operated when printing a print job are determined based on the determined location. An environmental adjustment factor for the printing device is determined based on the determined environmental conditions. A predicted print material usage of the printing device in printing the print job is adjusted based on the determined environmental adjustment factor.
COLOR MAP FROM COLOR DATA COLLECTED FROM PLURALITY OF SOURCES
Color data may be collected from a plurality of sources. A plurality of color map selection fields may be indexed at a table to a plurality of color maps. The plurality of color maps may be based on the collected color data. Each entry of the table may include an identifier to match one of the plurality of color maps to at least one permutation of the color map selection fields.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND COMPUTER READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section; an image reading sensor and a colorimeter; a temperature sensor; a memory that stores a first color value and a second color value in a first color chart that has a larger number of patches than a second color chart; a processor that creates a scanner profile for converting a first color value into a second color value using color values obtained by the image reading sensor and the colorimeter, corrects the scanner profile according to the color values obtained by the image reading sensor and the colorimeter, and converts the first color value into the second color value using the corrected scanner profile.
Information processing apparatus and image forming apparatus to align print positions
An information processing apparatus capable of executing adjustment of an image formation position at a timing determined based on the number of printed sheets according to a user's request. Adjustment modes for use in adjusting geometrical characteristics of an image which is printed on a sheet are displayed for causing an image forming apparatus to print an adjustment chart. A controller receives first information indicating whether or not to execute a first adjustment mode for causing the image forming apparatus to print the adjustment chart based on the number of sheets on which images have been printed by the image forming apparatus, and receives second information indicating whether or not to execute a second adjustment mode for causing the image forming apparatus to print the adjustment chart based on a result of detection by a temperature sensor provided in the image forming apparatus.
THERMAL ENERGY DETERMINATION
An example system for thermal energy determination can include a first controller comprising a processor and a non-transitory machine-readable medium (MRM) communicatively coupled to the processor. The non-transitory MRM can include instructions executable by the processor to cause the processor to receive relative humidity information of an environment of a thermal printing device, determine a colormap to a print media of the thermal printing device based on the relative humidity, and determine a particular thermal energy to apply to the print media based on the determined colormap.
