Each of the first light field camera and the second light field camera includes, in order from an object side to an image side, a lens group, a collimator and an image sensor. Each of the lens groups includes a plurality of lens units. The lens units are arranged in a two-dimensional lens array, and each of the lens units includes a lens container and a plurality of lens elements. A first engaging structure is disposed between at least two adjacent lens elements of the lens elements.
Four dimensional energy-field package assembly
Four dimensional (4D) energy-field package assembly for projecting energy fields according to a 4D coordinate function. The 4D energy-field package assembly includes an energy-source system having energy sources capable of providing energy to energy locations, and energy waveguides for directing energy from the energy locations from one side of the energy waveguide to another side of the energy waveguide along energy propagation paths.
Light field display
An angular image of a scene may be displayed using a light field display. The light field display may comprise a plurality of projection units. Each of the projections units may comprise an imaging system and an optical system. The imaging system may illuminate pixels of a planar image of the scene. Light corresponding to each of the pixels may be directed towards the optical system. The optical system may comprise first and second lenses for redirecting each light beam corresponding to a pixel in different directions. In some embodiments the first and second lenses form a globe lens. A diffusion system may conceal the optical systems. Additionally, or alternatively, the diffusion system may produce a uniform distribution of light at a plurality of different viewing angles.
MULTI-VIEWPOINT 3D DISPLAY SCREEN AND MULTI-VIEWPOINT 3D DISPLAY DEVICE
A multi-viewpoint 3D display screen is provided, comprising: a display panel, having a plurality of composite pixels, wherein each composite pixel in the plurality of composite pixels comprises a plurality of composite subpixels, and each composite subpixel in the plurality of composite subpixels comprises a plurality of subpixels arranged in array; and a plurality of spherical gratings, covering the plurality of composite subpixels. The multi-viewpoint 3D display screen can play a 3D effect for users at different viewing distances, and achieves high-quality 3D quality. A multi-viewpoint 3D display device is also provided.
AUTOSTEREOSCOPIC DISPLAY DEVICE
An autostereoscopic display comprises a pixelated display panel comprising an array of single color pixels or an array of sub-pixels of different colors and a view forming arrangement comprising an array of lens elements. The pixels form a square (or near square) grid, and the lenses also repeat in a square (or near square) grid. A vector p is defined which relates to a mapping between the pixel grid and the lens grid. Regions in the two dimension space for this vector p are identified which give good or poor banding performance, and the better banding performance regions are selected.
Light field image projection method
A direct projection light field display comprising an array of projectors for direct projection of a light field. The overall design and incorporation of additional optics achieve the optimal light distribution and small pixel size to produce a high definition, 3D display. The architecture of the direct projection light field display has low a brightness requirement for each projector, resulting in an increased projector density, decreased system, and a decreased power requirement, while producing a high-definition light field.
Head-up display device
A head-up display device includes: a display unit that produces a display light for the left eye by modulating a first illumination light derived from superimposing first illumination light beams output from a first region of a fly eye lens and produces a display light for the right eye by modulating a second illumination light derived from superimposing second illumination light beams output a second region of the fly eye lens; and an image processing unit that produces an image for the left eye and produces an image for the right eye; and a display control unit that causes a display unit to display the image for the left eye when the first illumination light is produced and causes the display unit to display the image for the right eye when the second illumination light is produced.
Light field display
A method of displaying a light field to at least one viewer of a light field display device, the light field based on a 3D model, the light field display device comprising a plurality of spatially distributed display elements, the method including the steps of: (a) determining the viewpoints of the eyes of the at least one viewer relative to the display device; (b) for each eye viewpoint and each of a plurality of the display elements, rendering a partial view image representing a view of the 3D model from the eye viewpoint through the display element; and (c) displaying, via each display element, the set of partial view images rendered for that display element.
Light field display system for sporting events
A light field (LF) display system for displaying holographic content (e.g., a holographic sporting event or holographic content to augment a holographic sporting event) to viewers in an arena. The LF display system in the arena includes LF display modules tiled together to form an array of LF modules. The array of LF modules create a holographic object volume for displaying the holographic content in the arena. The array of LF modules displays the holographic content to viewers in the viewing volumes. The LF display system can be included in a LF sporting event network. The LF sporting event network allows holographic content to be created at one location and presented at another location. The LF sporting event network includes a network system to manage the digital rights of the holographic sporting event content.
