Methods and apparatus for media data processing and transmitting and reference picture specifying
Disclosed are multiple methods and multiple apparatus e media data, and multiple methods and multiple apparatus for media data transmitting, media data processing, reference picture request processing and reference picture specifying. By means of the method to produce media data, the method for media data transmitting, and the method for media data processing, the synchronization and correct processing and transmission of bitstreams are ensured on the basis of dependency relation between video layer bitstream and library layer bitstream, and correct bitstream is highly efficiently provided to a decoder. By means of the method for reference picture request processing and reference picture specifying, a current picture is provided with a library picture set in which the library picture does not belong to the random access segment to which the current picture belongs and the previously most adjacent random access segment, and correct decoding of the current picture is ensured and repeated downloading of library pictures is avoided, thus ensuring the correct decoding and highly efficient transmission of a bitstream produced by library-based video coding method, and increasing transmission efficiency and storage efficiency.
Coded video sequence start access unit in video coding
A video decoder may be configured to output layers of video data according to layers specified in an output layer set mode as well as based on the actual layers received in an access unit. Accordingly, the video coder may be configured to output layers actually received rather than restart a video bitstream in situations where the layers actually received do not match the layers specified in the output layer set mode. In another example, a video encoder may disable inter prediction when the sub-picture ID of a sub-picture in a currently coded picture does not match the sub-picture ID of a sub-picture in a reference picture.
Transmission apparatus, transmission method, reception apparatus, reception method, recording apparatus, and recording method
The present technology makes it easy to present an image having appropriate image quality at a receiver side that receives high-frame-rate moving image data. A video stream obtained by encoding moving image data having a high frame rate is generated. A container containing the video stream is transmitted. Blur control information for controlling blur is inserted into a layer of the container and/or a layer of the video stream. The blur control information gives, for example, weighting coefficients for individual frames in a blurring process for adding image data of neighboring frames to image data of a current frame.
Electronic device and method for controlling electronic device
Disclosed are an electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device. Specifically, the electronic device according to the present disclosure receives a first image signal and a second image signal which are separated from an original image signal through a first channel and a second channel having different frequency bandwidths, and which have different data rates. When the first image signal and the second image signal are received, the electronic device determines whether an error exists in the second image signal, obtains a first output image signal and a second output image signal on the basis of the first image signal and the second image signal according to a result of the determination, and outputs the obtained first output image signal or second output image signal.
Encoding and Decoding Video Content
In an example method, a system receives a plurality of frames of a video, and generates a data structure representing the video and representing a plurality of temporal layers. Generating the data structure includes: (i) determining a plurality of quality levels for presenting the video, where each of the quality levels corresponds to a different respective sampling period for sampling the frames of the video, (ii) assigning, based on the sampling periods, each of the frames to a respective one of the temporal layers of the data structure, and (iii) indicating, in the data structure, one or more relationships between (a) at least one the frames assigned to at least one of the temporal layers of the data structure, and (b) at least another one of the frames assigned to at least another one of the temporal layers of the data structure. Further, the system outputs the data structure.
FILE FORMAT CONCEPTS FOR VIDEO CODING
File format concepts for video coding are described. Embodiments allow for an efficient extraction of sub-streams from a video file. Further embodiments allow for a flexible switching between sub-streams of a video file. Further embodiments allow for a flexible handling of decoder initializations.
ENCODER, DECODER, ENCODING METHOD, AND DECODING METHOD
An encoder includes circuitry and memory coupled to the circuitry. In operation, the circuitry: encodes one or more pictures which have common time information and each of which is included in a different layer; adds the one or more pictures into one access unit in a bitstream; and adds, into the bitstream, a first flag indicating that a total number of access units present in the bitstream is one.
STREAMING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method of displaying streamed content includes receiving streamed content from a server, decoding the streamed content, outputting the decoded streamed content for display, and estimating a degree of attention of a user on the streamed content, where the decoding step comprises decoding the content to a quality that is dependent upon the estimated degree of attention of the use.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MINIMIZING NETWORK BANDWIDTH RETRIEVED FROM AN EXTERNAL NETWORK
A system and method are provided of minimizing network bandwidth used from an external network by client peers in a local network. The method can include the operation of organizing a plurality of clients each having media streamlets and a client parent in a structure within the local network. Mapping information propagates through the structure. The mapping information represents local streamlet locations as stored by the plurality of clients. Another operation is retrieving a local streamlet from a client identified in the mapping information as having the local streamlet for the requesting client.
Method for forming an output image sequence from an input image sequence, method for reconstructing an input image sequence from an output image sequence, associated devices, server equipment, client equipment and computer programs
A method for forming an image sequence that is an output sequence, from an input image sequence, is provided. The input image sequence has an input spatial resolution and an input temporal resolution. The output sequence has an output temporal resolution equal to the input temporal resolution and an output spatial resolution equal to a predetermined fraction 1/N of the input spatial resolution by an integer number N higher than or equal to 2. The method, implemented for a sub-sequence of the input frame sequence that is a current input sub-sequence and including a preset number of images, includes: obtaining a temporal frequency that is an image frequency, associated with the current input sub-sequence; processing the current input sub-sequence to obtain an output sub-sequence; and inserting the output sub-sequence and the associated image frequency into an output container.
