Techniques where a computing device such as a smart phone can be leveraged to facilitate ratings data capture through a set top box (“STB”) associated with a content subscription service such as satellite television are described. In an exemplary embodiment, STB channel data can be communicated to the computing device via a personal area network (“PAN”) connection such as Bluetooth. The computing device in turn can forward the STB channel data to a remote server over a wide area network (“WAN”).

A method includes receiving, by a computing device of a media service provider, a search request associated with a first product. The search request is received from a media device associated with a subscriber of a service provided by the media service provider. The method includes, in response to the search request, determining, by the computing device, a responsible party associated with the first product based on a purchase date of the first product and a return period for the first product. The method also includes sending, from the computing device to the media device, contact information of the responsible party. The contact information is to be displayed by the media device to a display device with an option to contact the responsible party.

Various aspects include methods for supporting Enhancement for Television (ENTV) service delivery to a user equipment (UE) in a fifth generation new radio (5G-NR) radio access network (RAN). Various aspects may include generating an ENTV capability message, the ENTV capability message indicating one or more ENTV parameters of the UE, and sending the ENTV capability message to a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) of the 5G-NR RAN. Various aspects may include receiving a ENTV capability message from the UE, the ENTV capability message indicating one or more ENTV parameters of the UE, determining one or more radio resource configurations for the UE based at least in part on the one or more ENTV parameters of the UE, and generating a configuration message indicating the one or more radio resource configurations for the UE, and sending the configuration message to the UE.

A computer-implemented method for controlling content distribution includes forwarding information associated with a user to a device operated by the user, the information being configured for use in selecting content from any of multiple content providers for a content distribution to the user. The method includes receiving, in response to the information, an edit of the information forwarded from the device. The edit identifies a first content provider and including a first modification of the content distribution regarding the first content provider. The method includes storing the edit in association with the information such that the first modification is taken into account in the content distribution. The method can be implemented using a computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable storage medium.

A proxy service is described for linking a device with a remote server via a mobile application. Accordingly, a portable computer such as a smart phone can execute a mobile application that creates a proxy service through which data can be wirelessly communicated from the device to the portable computer via a personal area network (PAN) and wirelessly communicated from the portable computer to the remote server via a wide area network (WAN). The remote server can also send data to the device via the proxy service in the reverse direction.

Disclosed herein is a method of facilitating live streaming of content on multiple social media platforms. The method comprises receiving, using a communication device, a plurality of digital content from a source user device. Further, the method comprises receiving, using the communication device, a plurality of target identifiers from the source user device. Further, the method comprises identifying, using a processing device, a plurality of social media servers associated with the plurality of target identifiers. Further, the method comprises processing, using the processing device, the plurality of digital content based on a plurality of platform characteristics corresponding to the plurality of social media servers. Further, the method comprises generating, using the processing device, a plurality of transformed digital content based on the processing. Further, the method comprises transmitting, using the communication device, the plurality of transformed digital content to the plurality of social media servers.

Systems and methods provide live broadcasts with real-time feedback from viewers using mobile computing devices. An example method includes providing a live feed broadcast from a source mobile device to a plurality of viewing devices, receiving, during the live feed broadcast, a plurality of feedback signals, each feedback signal being from at least one of the plurality of viewing devices, and associating each feedback signal with a respective time in the live feed broadcast. The method further includes providing, for each feedback signal in the plurality of feedback signals, an indication of the feedback signal to the source mobile device and to each viewing device of the plurality of viewing devices, the indication being used to display a symbol representing the feedback signal as an animation, the animation moving the symbol on a path during display and lasting for a predetermined time subsequent to the respective time.

A method, an apparatus and a system for the reproduction of a specific multimedia content are provided. The method includes the step of acquiring one or more samples of a specific multimedia content reproduced by a mobile multimedia radio/television apparatus, where the specific multimedia content is included in a first signal emitted by a broadcast-type radio/television network, including the further step of determining an identifier of the specific multimedia content and the value of a quality parameter of the first signal. According to the value of the quality parameter of the first signal, further steps include receiving on a multimedia telephone apparatus the specific multimedia content through a second signal emitted by a cellular telephone network, sending the specific multimedia content to one or more multimedia reproduction units included in the mobile multimedia radio/television apparatus.

A method for performing live-streaming of user-generated content over a media-streaming network, including transmitting, by a 5.sup.th generation media streaming (5GMS)-aware application, a live-streaming request corresponding to the user-generated content to a 5GMS application provider (AP); receiving, by the 5GMS-aware application, from the 5GMS AP, an edge application server (LAS) profile corresponding to the live-streaming request, wherein the EAS profile indicates a service class (SC) from among a plurality of SCs, the SC corresponding to the live-streaming request; selecting, by the 5GMS-aware application, a 5GMS application server (AS) based on the SC; and performing the live-streaming of the user-generated content over 5GMS network to the 5GMS AS according to the SC.
