Broadcast receiver and method for launching broadcaster application based on URL in application signaling information
A digital broadcast receiver for receiving a broadcast signal, includes a tuner configured to receive the broadcast signal including service data in a broadcast signal and application signaling information, wherein the application signaling information includes a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of an entry page of a broadcaster application for the digital broadcast receiver, a cache configured to store a content for the broadcaster application and a processor configured to launch the broadcaster application based on the application signaling information, wherein the entry page of the broadcaster application is loaded based on the URL, and the URL is used to point to a server.
Transmission of applications with content
Provided are methods and systems for controlling data such as content and/or application data transmitted to one or more user devices. One method can comprise receiving a request for first content and generating, in response to the request for the first content, a first transport stream comprising the first content and application data relating to a first application. At least a portion of the first transport stream is transmitted to a recipient device. An interruption in the transmission of the first transport stream is detected and a determination is made that only a first portion of the application data has been transmitted to the recipient device. A second transport stream including second content and a second portion of the application data is generated and transmitted.
Selective Interactivity
A system may selectively deliver interactive portions of a piece of content, based for example on a recipient user's historical tendency to use interactive portions of prior content. Multiple levels of interactivity may be defined for a given piece of content, such as an advertisement, and different users may receive different levels of interactivity based on how much they use interactive features. Some users may receive no interactive features at all, while others may receive the interactive features, and despite the fact that all of the users' devices may be perfectly capable of processing the interactive features for the user. The omission from transmission may conserve bandwidth and transmission resources.
Monitoring segmentation messages of video streams
Described are method and system embodiments for monitoring segmentation messages of a digital video stream. In some embodiments, a method is performed at an electronic device with a display and operated by a user. The method includes monitoring the digital video stream for segmentation messages and detecting a segmentation message in the digital video stream. Then, a validity of the detected segmentation message is determined based on a previously-detected segmentation message. The user is notified of the determined validity of the segmentation message using the display.
Interactive application server on a second screen device
A server version of an interactive application executed by a processing device of a first mobile device communicatively connected to a main video rendering device collects first data generated by a first client version of the interactive application executed by the processing device. The server version of the interactive application generates first displayable content relating to the first client version of the interactive application based on the first data, wherein the first displayable content is rendered on a display of the first mobile device. The server version of the interactive application generates second displayable content based in part on the first data and additional data relating to the server version of the interactive application, wherein the first displayable content is different from the second displayable content. The server version of the interactive application, transmits the second displayable content to the main video rendering device to be rendered on a main video display.
Parameter Configuration Method and Related System
This application provides a parameter configuration method, including: receiving a configuration parameter of a service system and a service objective of the service system through a standard interface, performing parameter optimization on the configuration parameter to obtain a recommended parameter value that meets the service objective, and then outputting the recommended parameter value, to implement parameter configuration for the service system. The method abstracts parameter configuration problems in different service scenarios into a mathematical problem of inputting and expression through a standard interface. In this way, a universal parameter configuration method is provided, without case-by-case parameter configuration. In addition, an expert in the service field can independently complete parameter configuration without artificial intelligence experience, thereby improving configuration efficiency and reducing configuration costs.
Activating media function on particular media device at hospitality establishment utilizing passkey generated according to current time and identifier of the particular media device
A media system includes a plurality of set-top boxes coupled to a coax network and a controller. The controller displays a first passkey to a user in response to receiving a request from the user to activate playback of a media content on a particular set-top box. The set-top box receives the first passkey from the user and determines whether the user is authorized to activate playback of the media content by comparing the first passkey received from the user with a second passkey obtained from a passkey module on the set-top box. When the user is determined by the set-top box to be authorized to activate playback of the media content, the set-top box determines a radio frequency channel of the coax network according to the first passkey received from the user and begins playback of the media content received on the radio frequency channel on a display device.
Traffic management architecture
A cable distribution system includes a head end connected to a plurality of customer devices through a transmission network that provides data suitable for the plurality of customer devices. A traffic monitoring system receives from a customer support device a first data request for a parameter of one of the plurality of customer devices. The traffic monitoring system provides a second data request for the parameter of the one of said plurality of customer devices to a customer premise equipment management system in response to receiving the first data request. The traffic monitoring system receiving a first data response including the parameter from the customer premise equipment management system in response to providing the second data request to the customer premise equipment management system. The traffic monitoring system providing a second data response including the parameter from the traffic management system to the customer support device in response to receiving the first data response.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING MULTI-PART PERSISTENT CONTENT
A method for providing multi-part persistent content includes requesting a content item from a content server, and receiving a first portion of a multi-part content item. The first portion of the multi-part content item is displayed to a user of the client device via a first application executed by the client device. The method also includes providing an authentication token and an identification of a state of execution of the multi-part content item to the content server, and subsequently requesting a second content item, the request comprising the authentication token. The method also includes receiving a second portion of the multi-part content item, the second portion of the multi-part content item displayed to the user of the client device via a different, second application executed by the client device. The second portion is selected by the content server based on the state of execution of the multi-part content item.
