In a system in which communication between an information processing apparatus and a printing apparatus is possible, the information processing apparatus detects that communication with the printing apparatus has become possible and, in response to detection that such communication has become possible, generates print data based upon data that the information processing apparatus is displaying on a display unit connected to or built in the information processing apparatus, and transfers the generated print data to the printing apparatus. The printing apparatus prints the data received from the information processing apparatus.

In a system in which communication between an information processing apparatus and a printing apparatus is possible, the information processing apparatus detects that communication with the printing apparatus has become possible and, in response to detection that such communication has become possible, generates print data based upon data that the information processing apparatus is displaying on a display unit connected to or built in the information processing apparatus, and transfers the generated print data to the printing apparatus. The printing apparatus prints the data received from the information processing apparatus.

An image forming apparatus includes: a hardware processor that: executes processing corresponding to an instruction input via an external device; sends a first notification to the external device according to a completion of execution of the processing; and upon estimating that the execution of the processing is not completed before a timeout time, sends a second notification different from the first notification to the external device. The external device sets the timeout time for the first notification.

A communication apparatus that communicates with an information processing apparatus includes a first control unit configured to execute first control to acquire connection information for the communication apparatus to connect to an access point from the information processing apparatus via communication with the information processing apparatus using a first protocol, and a third control unit configured to execute third control to, in a case where the connection between the communication apparatus and the access point is not established using the connection information acquired by the first control unit, continue the second state where the communication apparatus can communicate with the information processing apparatus using the second protocol, without disabling the second state.

The information processing apparatus includes a memory device that stores instructions, and a processor that executes the instructions to wirelessly communicate with an external apparatus by at least one of a first communication function that wireless communicates by a first wireless communication method that conforms to IEEE802.11ah and a second communication function that wirelessly communicates by a second wireless communication method of which a communication speed is higher than that of the first wireless communication method, determine whether an electric power state of the apparatus is a second electric power state in which power consumption is lower than a first electric power state, and prompt a user to set switching setting that stops the second communication function and starts the first communication function in the second electric power state.

A printing apparatus of the present invention makes wireless LAN connection in at least either one of a first connection mode for making wireless LAN connection to an image processing apparatus in which inherent authentication information is stored and a second connection mode for making wireless LAN connection to the image processing apparatus via a second access point provided by an apparatus other than the printing device and the image processing apparatus. The printing apparatus controls, in a case of connection in the first connection mode, a first function provided by the printing apparatus to be enabled and a second function which is enabled in the second connection mode to be disabled.
