Image reading apparatus
According to one embodiment, an image reading apparatus includes a light emitting unit, a first carriage, a first photoelectric conversion unit, a first lens, and a second carriage. The light emitting unit irradiates a reading object with light. The first carriage includes a first optical member for guiding reflected light from the reading object. The first carriage is movable in a sub-scanning direction along the reading object. The first photoelectric conversion unit receives the reflected light from the reading object guided through the first optical member and outputs an image signal. The first lens is disposed on an optical path of the reflected light between the first optical member and the first photoelectric conversion unit, and images the reflected light from the reading object on the first photoelectric conversion unit. The second carriage is movable in a main scanning direction orthogonal to the sub-scanning direction along the reading object with respect to the first carriage. The second carriage includes a second optical member for guiding the reflected light from the reading object, a second photoelectric conversion unit that receives the reflected light from the reading object guided through the second optical member to output an image signal, and a second lens that is disposed on an optical path of the reflected light between the second optical member and the second photoelectric conversion unit and images the reflected light from the reading object on the second photoelectric conversion unit at a magnification different from the first lens.
Scanner carriage devices to prevent tilting
An example device includes a U-shaped body to be placed around a guide on which a scanner carriage is to be guided. A fixed leg of the U-shaped body is attached to a linearly translatable scanner carriage. A free leg of the U-shaped body is not attached to the scanner carriage and has inward facing ribs. The ribs on the free leg of the U-shaped body are positioned to come into contact with the guide to align the scanner carriage with the guide.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image reading apparatus including a reading unit comprising a photodetector configured to read an image information on a sheet, and a projecting portion, a case storing the photodetector therein, the case comprising a transparent portion configured to transmit light to be received by the photodetector, and a portion defining an opening through which the projecting portion is projected outward from the case, and an elastic portion provided to fill a space where the projecting portion is not present in the opening. The case movably stores the photodetector within a range where the projecting portion is movable in the opening.
MECHANISM FOR SUPPORTING A TRAVELING BODY
A mechanism for supporting a traveling body includes a traveling body which reciprocates and shifts, a track member extending in a direction in which the traveling body shifts, a track surface provided in the track member to slide the traveling body, a drive section that drives the traveling body, and a slide member provided in the traveling body to support the traveling body slidably via a lubricant between the track surface and the slide member. The slide member includes a slide contact portion that slides on the track surface, a slide barrier portion provided on at least one side of the slide contact portion along a slide direction of the slide contact portion, and a guide portion which scrapes the lubricant in association with sliding of the slide contact portion, and guides the lubricant to between the slide contact portion and the slide barrier portion.

SCAN CARRIAGE OF A PRINT APPARATUS
Example implementations relate to a scan carriage of a print apparatus. In some examples, a system may include a print carriage to transit across a print zone of the print apparatus and a scan carriage selectably attachable to the print carriage to transit across the print zone of the print apparatus.
Imaging device for capturing images of moving objects
There is described an imaging device for capturing images of at least portions of moving objects. The system comprises a stationary camera lens configured for reproducing an image of at least a portion of each moving object in an imaging plane when said object moves across a capturing region. The device further comprises at least one image sensor located in the imaging plane for receiving the reproduced image of the at least a portion of the corresponding moving object and converting said image into electronic signals. The at least one image sensor is mounted on a sensor support adapted to be actuated in a manner that the at least one image sensor is moved in the imaging plane relative to the stationary camera lens, and in a manner that the motion of said at least one image sensor is synchronized with the motion of the moving object to be captured. This ensures that there is substantially no relative movement between the reproduced image in the imaging plane and the image sensor when said moving object moves across the capturing region. As a result motion blur of the captured image of the at least a portion of each moving object is prevented or significantly reduced.
Image scanning unit and image forming apparatus having the same
An image scanning unit an image forming apparatus having the same to scan an image recorded on a document. The image scanning unit includes: a transparent window on which a document to be scanned is laid; an image sensor running straightly under the transparent window for capturing an image recorded on the document, a unit for driving the image sensor; a guide shaft for guiding the straight movement of the image sensor; and an image sensor carrier connected to the driving unit and the guide shaft for straightly moving the image sensor along the guide shaft when the driving unit operates. The image sensor carrier has an image sensor mounting surface on which the image sensor is mounted, and a guide shaft holder integrally formed with the image sensor mounting surface and mounted on the guide shaft.
