The controller is configured to set a setting of outputting of a transmission report indicating a transmission result of the transmission job as a device setting of the apparatus, set the setting of outputting of the transmission report as a setting of the transmission job, and set whether or not to accept the setting of outputting of the transmission report of the transmission job as the device setting of the apparatus.

An image forming apparatus includes a wireless tag communication device to write data to, and read data from, a wireless tag attached to a sheet. An image forming device in the apparatus is configured to form an image on the sheet. A controller in the apparatus is configured to determine whether a writing of data to a wireless tag was successful based on a notification from the wireless tag communication device and generate investigation support information if the writing was not successful and control the image forming device to form an investigation support image corresponding to the investigation support information if the writing was not successful.

A management apparatus includes circuitry that stores, in a memory, facsimile data received by an electronic device in association with information on a group to which the received facsimile data belongs, and transmits a list of the received facsimile data based on a browse request of the received facsimile data. In the list, the received facsimile data is classified according to at least the information on the group to which the electronic device belongs.

An image processing apparatus having a transmission function for transmitting image data includes a reader that reads a document to generate image data, a memory device that stores instructions, and a processor that executes the instructions stored in the memory device. The instructions are executed to execute a transmission job for transmitting the image data generated by the reader, set a first setting for not printing a transmission report representing a transmission result of the transmission job to the image processing apparatus as a device setting of the image processing apparatus, and set a second setting for printing the transmission report to the transmission job as a setting for a transmission job. The transmission report is printed in accordance with the first setting being set to the image processing apparatus and the transmission job to which the second setting is set being executed.

An image formation system includes: an encoded image generation device including a first processor that generates print data from manuscript data, sets security information for controlling a print mode of the print data, and generates an encoded image from the print data and the security information; and an image formation device including a second processor that inputs the encoded image, decodes the print data and the security data from the input encoded image, determines whether an output of the decoded print data is available in accordance with the decoded security information, and outputs the decoded print data when it is determined that the output of the print data is available.

An image forming apparatus includes a reader that reads a document to generate image data, a user interface that accepts an instruction from a user, a memory device that stores instructions, and a processor that executes the instructions stored in the memory device. The instructions are executed to transmit the generated image data, set a setting regarding an output of a transmission result of transmission of the image data based on an instruction for transmitting before the user interface accepts the instruction for transmitting, and control the output of the transmission result, based on the setting, in the transmission of the image data in accordance with the instruction for transmitting.
