The storage device stores control device configuration information in relation to resolution information of a control device. The control device configuration information is included in list information that is a list of information on the control device. The generating circuit generates dummy list information that is a dummy of the list information using the control device configuration information. The initialization circuit initializes the control device based on the dummy list information.

Conditions corresponding to the type of print medium can be easily acquired when executing a printing process. A first area stores first information related to a print medium for each type of print medium. A second area stores second information, which is related to conditions used in a printing process generating print data and causing a printing mechanism to print on a print medium an image defined by the print data, relationally to first information corresponding to the type of print medium to be printed on in the printing process.

An acquisition unit acquires information in terms of a type of a device to be used. A storage unit stores a plurality of ICC profiles corresponding to respective devices. A generation unit generates a list of descriptions of usable ICC profiles. A determination unit determines whether the generated list includes a description of an ICC profile including the information unit in terms of the type of the device to be used. In a case where the determination made by the determination unit is affirmative, a change unit changes the description of determined ICC profile to a description including the information in terms of a device model name of the device to be used. A providing unit provides the list generated by the generation unit or the list changed by the change unit to a user.

Video data with enhanced dynamic range (EDR) are color graded for a first and a second reference display with different dynamic range characteristics to generate a first color-graded output, a second color graded output, and associated first and second sets of metadata. The first color-graded output and the two sets of metadata are transmitted from an encoder to a decoder to be displayed on a target display which may be different than the second reference display. At the receiver, a decoder interpolates between the first and second set of metadata to generate a third set of metadata which drives the display management process for displaying the received video data onto the target display. The second set of metadata of metadata may be represented as delta metadata values from the first set of metadata values.
