STREAM REPAIR MEMORY MANAGEMENT

Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. Multiple memory buffers are used to manage broadcast packet repair and presentation or storage.

AUDIO VIDEO RECEIVER WITH SIMULTANEOUS MULTIZONE 8K VIDEO ROUTING

A bidirectional media communication channel testing platform includes an HDMI testing device including a video input port and an audio output port; a plurality of media streaming devices, each including a video transmission channel and an audio return channel; and a bidirectional switch including a video path and an audio path. The video path is configured to selectively couple the video input port of the HDMI testing device to a video transmission channel of a selected one of the plurality of media streaming devices, and the audio path is configured to concurrently couple the audio output port of the HDMI testing device to the audio return channel of each of the plurality of media streaming devices, regardless of a switching state of the video path of the bidirectional switch.

Recommending and activating scenes in a multimedia system are provided. The techniques of the present disclosure can allow the states of the components in the multimedia system to be captured in a scene. Once the scene has been saved, the scene can be activated at a later time. A controller device for recommending scenes by comparing the current state with states of components in saved scenes is also provided. The controller device can also determine if media is playing in a current scene, and activate a selected scene without playing the media content. Once the selected scene is activated, the media playing in the current scene can be switched, and the media playing in the selected scene can be played.

METHOD AND DEVICE IN A CAMERA NETWORK SYSTEM

There is provided a method performed by a device in a network camera system. First and second encoded image data representing the same scene are received (S02, SO4) over a network. The first and the second encoded image data are collected under the same light condition, albeit using different camera parameters. In particular, the second encoded image data is collected using camera parameters which simulate that the second encoded image data is collected under a darker light condition. A ratio of received data amount per time unit of the first encoded image data to received data amount per time unit of the second encoded image data is determined (S06) and the ratio is then used (S08) as an indication of a level of noise in the first encoded image data.

MONITORING AUDIO-VISUAL CONTENT WITH CAPTIONS
20170302989 · 2017-10-19 ·

To monitor audio-visual content which includes captions, caption fingerprints are derived from a length of each word in the caption, without regard to the identity of the character or characters forming the word. Audio-visual content is searched to identify a caption event having a matching fingerprint and missing captions; caption timing errors and caption discrepancies are measured.

Systems and methods for saving and restoring scenes in a multimedia system with minimal configuration are provided. The techniques of the present invention can allow the states of the components in the multimedia system to be captured in a scene. Once the scene has been saved, the scene can be restored at a later time. A remote control system for recommending scenes by comparing states of components in the current scene with states of components in saved scenes is also provided. The remote control system can also recommend scenes based on usage patterns. Moreover, the remote control system can allow users to designate one or more saved scenes as favorite scenes.
