A sound identification system is used for identifying a sound associated with a client user. The sound identification system can receive information from a network device in a network that is associated with the client user. The sound identification system determines one or more context parameters based on the information. A client user can output a sound. This sound can be received as a sound input by the sound identification system. The sound identification system can determine one or more identified sound signatures associated with the client user based on one or more sound signatures. The sound identification system can determine an identified sound based on the one or more identified sound signatures and the one or more context parameters. In this way, a client user is monitored using context-aware sound identification.

CONTEXT-AWARE SOUND IDENTIFICATION FOR MONITORING A CLIENT USER

A monitoring system can provide a sound profile to a network device. The monitoring system can identify a type of location associated with the network device that is located in a network. The monitoring system can determine a sound profile based on the type of location. The monitoring system can provide the sound profile to the network device. The sound profile relates to one or more sounds associated with the location so that the network device need not store and/or process all sounds but rather only those sounds that would typically be received or made at the location. The sound profile can be based or updated based on user sensor data received from the network device. In this way, the network device, the monitoring system, any other network resource, or any combination thereof uses context-aware sound identification to monitor a client user.

The processor is configured to control, via the communication interface, the videoconferencing codec located in the same videoconferencing room as the system controller, according to the one or more commands to establish or control a videoconference in the same videoconferencing room.

The conference platform gateway service may create a binding between a SIP address and a web meeting URL. When communication is initiated from a compatible peer device to the gateway/server by means of a point-to-point protocol, the gateway/server establishes a connection to the web-based conference using the binding between URI and URL, and establishes a connection between the Point-to-point and Web browser compatible meeting service.

Information associated with a controlled-environment facility resident communications and/or data device, such as device location within the controlled-environment facility, may be used to determine whether the resident device is approved for two-way video visitation or restricted to on-way video visitation. Voice and video captured at the non-resident device is transmitted to the resident device and, if the resident device is permitted two-way video visitation, voice and video captured by the resident device is transmitted to the non-resident device, if the resident device is restricted to one-way video visitation, only voice is transmitted to the non-resident device.

An audio-video communication system comprises a wireless exterior module located proximate an entrance, a computerized controller running a software application, and a remote peripheral device. The wireless exterior module includes a proximity sensor for detecting a person at the entrance, a video camera for recording an image of the person at the entrance, a microphone for recording the person at the entrance, a speaker for playing audio to the person at the entrance, a transmitter for communicating sounds and images of the person at the entrance, and a receiver for receiving communications at the wireless exterior module. The computerized controller is disposed in wireless electronic communication with the wireless exterior module via the transmitter and the receiver of the wireless exterior module. The remote peripheral device is configured to electronically communicate with the computerized controller for viewing an image from the video camera communicated from the wireless exterior module.
