Systems and methods for seamless communications recovery and backup using networked communication devices
A recovery network may provide communication recovery and backup services to an organization. The organization may comprise an internal network, such as Internet Protocol (IP) network. An alternative communication path communicatively couples communication devices of the organization to a public communication network. A recovery application operates on devices of the organization. The recovery network receives periodic availability indicators from devices within the organization. The recovery network identifies a communication endpoint of the intended recipient of a communication request using the availability indicators.
Emergency network slice and method for processing an emergency communication in a packet switched communication network
A method for processing an emergency message in a communication network includes: transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), an emergency message to an access network entity of a network slice of the communication network, wherein the emergency message comprises an emergency identifier (E_ID); detecting by the access network entity of the network slice of the communication network, based on the E_ID, that the emergency message is related to an emergency; forwarding the emergency message to an emergency network slice of the communication network based on the emergency detection; and establishing, by the emergency network slice, a communication link between the UE and a public safety answering point (PSAP) for processing the emergency message.
Device, system and method for communicating between devices using two protocols
A device, system and method for communicating between devices using two protocols is provided. A request is received from a first device to communicate with a second device. A dedicated client operates according to a first protocol. A call server is operated according to a second protocol. An identifier is provided to the second device for requesting a web application for conducting a call via the call server, the identifier associated with the first and second device. A request, including the identifier is received and the web application is provided to the second device. A first call is set up between the dedicated client and a respective dedicated client. A second call is set up between the call server and the web application at the second device. The first call and the second call are connected to conduct an end-to-end call between the first and second device.
NEXT GENERATION EMERGENCY CALL ROUTING OVER DIVERSE NETWORKS
Methods and systems for routing calls include determining media types within a received call for emergency services from a caller. Emergency service providers for the call are determined based on the determined media types. The call is routed to the emergency service providers, with different subsets of data within the call, corresponding to respective determined media types, being routed to different emergency service providers from the determined emergency service providers.
NEXT GENERATION EMERGENCY CALL ROUTING OVER DIVERSE NETWORKS
Methods and systems for routing calls include determining media types within a received call from a caller, the media types being selected from voice, location, text, photo, video, and data. Emergency service providers are identified for the received based on the determined media information contained in the received call. The call is routed to at least one of the identified emergency service providers.
Methods and systems for routing calls include determining location information identifying a location of a caller. A destination for a call from the caller is determined based on the location information and a geographic service area of the destination. The call is routed to the destination.
Reestablishment procedure for an emergency call
Traditional rules that apply to cell selection are overridden to allow cell selection on an acceptable cell, in addition to cell selection on a suitable cell. Once a mobile device acquires service on an acceptable cell, mobile device can inform network of the emergency call in progress or initiation of an emergency call, which allows network to perform necessary actions to support the emergency call during establishment/reestablishment.
NEXT GENERATION EMERGENCY CALL ROUTING OVER DIVERSE NETWORKS
