Speaker Structure with a Loading Hole
20180007464 · 2018-01-04 ·

This invention discloses a kind of speaker structure with a loading hole. A characteristic is that it includes an active cavity that has a cone hole and a loading hole; a loudspeaker is sealed and secured on the said cone hole; the said active cavity is connected to the outside air through the said loading hole; the cone of the said loudspeaker has one side which is connected to the free space; another characteristic of this invention is that it includes a driven cavity that is connected to the said active cavity through the said loading hole; the cross-sectional area of the said loading hole is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the air passage on its either side; further, it is not larger than ⅔ the effective area of all the vibration units in the said active cavity; also, the volume of the said active cavity does not exceed half the total volume of the said active cavity and driven cavity. The loading hole constitutes a loading component which improves the transient response of the speaker body. To a great extent, it solves the contradiction between frequency response and transient effect at low sound frequencies. It lowers the requirements for the loudspeaker and simultaneously allows the frequency response and transient effect for the entire system at low sound frequencies to be handled relatively independently. This causes the loudspeaker cost to be reduced.

The invention relates to speaker systems for high-quality sound reproduction. It provides a simplified structure of the device, improves the device manufacturability and durability. The speaker system includes the driver, the horn for reproducing low-frequency range sound (rear horn), and the horn for reproducing high-frequency and mid-frequency range sound (front horn); both horns are made in the form of a single enclosure with the capability of mounting the driver in this enclosure, while the enclosure is made of two solid parts symmetrical with respect to the plane of the central vertical section, each part represents a half of the overall profile of the front and rear horns, with no joints at the junction between the front and the rear horns.

Acoustic waveguides

A method of designing an acoustic waveguide in which acoustic waves travelling along the waveguide are treated as exhibiting single parameter behaviour, and in which the waveguide provides a boundary confining the acoustic waves as they travel along the wave propagation path and has two substantially parallel, primary surfaces spaced apart a distance less than a wavelength of a high frequency acoustic wave. The primary surfaces may be planar, curved, or a combination of planar portions and curved portions.

The horn is defined in part by the first plurality of sidewalls. The horn includes a second plurality of sidewalls that are coupled to the first plurality of sidewalls and that include a first sidewall and a second sidewall. The horn further includes a motorboard that includes a first opening arranged along a plane and a second opening arranged along the plane. The motorboard is coupled to the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The loudspeaker further includes an active driver arranged concentric to the first opening to transmit sound waves directly through the first opening, and a passive component arranged concentric to the second opening to transmit sound waves directly through the second opening.

Loudspeakers

A loudspeaker comprising: an acoustic diaphragm having front and rear surfaces, the acoustic diaphragm in use being driven so as to vibrate and radiate acoustic waves from its front surface in a forward direction away from the loudspeaker and from its rear surface in a rearward direction, and a drive unit located rearwardly or to the front/outside of the diaphragm, there being at least one open duct leading in a rearward direction away from the diaphragm, in which the at least one open duct has a cross-sectional area which decreases in the rearward direction, and in which acoustic waves radiated from the rear surface of the diaphragm pass through the open duct before contacting a front surface of an acoustic metamaterial absorber located generally behind the drive unit and immediately to the rear of the duct.

A speaker system including an enclosure, a first acoustic driver engaged with the enclosure, and two or more horns configured to output a sound from the first acoustic driver to a front plane of the enclosure. In one embodiment, the two or more horns may be folded and planar. In one embodiment, the speaker system may include a second acoustic driver, which may be installed above or below the first acoustic driver. The second acoustic driver may be larger or smaller or the same size when compared to the first acoustic driver.

SPEAKER MODULE

A speaker module comprising a module housing is disclosed. A speaker unit is accommodated within the module housing. A sound hole of the module is located at a side of the speaker unit. The speaker unit divides a cavity of the entire module into two cavities, namely a front acoustic cavity and a rear acoustic cavity. The front acoustic cavity is in communication with the sound hole. A sound-absorbing cotton is provided in the front acoustic cavity. The sound-absorbing cotton is fixed on the module housing, and is arranged to avoid a vibration space of a diaphragm of the speaker unit. The present invention effectively improves the performance of a sensitivity curve of the module at high frequencies without modifying the structure of the front acoustic cavity, thus not only increasing the acoustic performance of the module, but also simplifying the structure of the front acoustic cavity of the module.
