METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR POLICY CONTROL EVENT EXPOSURE
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a policy control event exposure service is provided. The service may include a policy control event exposure service that supports quality of service (QoS)-based event subscription and access and mobility (AM)-based event subscription. The service may notify network function consumers when a QoS-based event or an AM-based event occurs.
Adaptive throughput for user equipment communicating via a managed Wi-Fi service network
A managed Wi-Fi service network device can receive, from a cellular network device, an allowable throughput rate at which a user equipment is authorized to communicate via a managed Wi-Fi service network. Based on the allowable throughput rate, the managed Wi-Fi service network device can monitor a communication rate of the user equipment via the managed Wi-Fi service network. In response to the user equipment communicating via the managed Wi-Fi service network at a rate that exceeds the allowable throughput rate, the managed Wi-Fi service network device can facilitate reducing the communication rate of the user equipment. Also, a user equipment can receive from a cellular network device an allowable throughput rate at which the user equipment is authorized to communicate via the managed Wi-Fi service network. The UE can communicate via the managed Wi-Fi service network at a communication rate that does not exceed the allowable throughput rate.
Systems and methods for interfacing a gateway with an application server
A method for interfacing a gateway with an application server includes (1) receiving, at a control system, first downlink data from the application server, and (2) steering the first downlink data from the control system to the gateway via at least one of a plurality of parallel data communication links between the gateway and the control system, according to a first steering policy.
System, method, and apparatus for providing optimized network resources
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing optimization of network resources. The system is operable to monitor the electromagnetic environment, analyze the electromagnetic environment, and extract environmental awareness of the electromagnetic environment. The system extracts the environmental awareness of the electromagnetic environment by including customer goals. The system is operable to use the environmental awareness with the customer goals and/or user defined policies and rules to extract actionable information to help the customer optimize the network resources.
Mobile network conditional policy execution based on UE geographic location
A network device receives, from a policy control function (PCF), at least one set of multiple user equipment device (UE)-location based conditional policy rules. The network device selects a first one of the multiple UE-location based conditional policy rules based on a first geographic location of a first UE, and controls data traffic associated with the first UE using the selected first one of the plurality of UE-location based conditional policy rules.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SERVICE OF ULTRA-RELIABLE AND LOW-LATENCY COMMUNICATION IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Disclosed is a fifth generation (5G) or sixth generation (6G) communication system for supporting higher data transmission rate. A method for providing an ultra-reliable and low-latency communication (URLLC) service in an ultra-reliable and low-latency communication function (URLLCF) of a mobile communication system is provided. The method includes receiving an end-to-end latency request message from an application function (AF) device, the latency request message including a latency requirement and at least one of generic public subscription identifier (GPSI) information of a specific user equipment (UE), data network name (DNN), or single-network slice selection assistance (S-NSSAI), performing a subscription procedure of URLLC service condition with a unified data management (UDM)/user data repository (UDR) device, obtaining location information of the UE, identifying whether the location information conforms to a range required by the URLLC service, configuring a policy and association satisfying a latency for the URLLC service to the UE, and providing a URLLC service notification to the AF based on the configuration.
ALLOCATING RESOURCES FOR COMMUNICATION AND SENSING SERVICES
An apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code being configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform determining, per a communication service to which resources are to be allocated, a metric value using a first predefined set of rules, determining, per a sensing service to which resources are to be allocated, a metric value using a second predefined set of rules, sorting communication services to which resources are to be allocated and sensing services to which resources are to be allocated based on the metric values to a sorted order using a third rule, and allocating resources for the communication services and the sensing services based on the sorted order.
HETEROGENEOUS HUB CLUSTERING AND APPLICATION POLICY BASED AUTOMATIC NODE SELECTION FOR NETWORK OF CLOUDS
Some embodiments provide a method of transmitting data in a logical network with multiple branches and a hub cluster with multiple hubs of a first category of hubs and multiple hubs of a second category of hubs. The method, for each of the multiple branches (1) assigns a first hub of the first category of hubs to the branch (2) assigns a second hub of the second category of hubs to the branch, and (3) provides a set of application based policies to the branch. The application based policies direct the branch to route different types of network traffic of the application through the first hub than through the second hub. Each hub of the first category of hubs, in some embodiments, includes a set of resources equivalent to a set of resources of each other hub of the first category of hubs.
Apparatus for supporting and influencing QoS levels
The present disclosure provides methods and apparatuses related to mobile network systems. In an implementation, a method comprises configuring, by an application function (AF) of an apparatus in a mobile network system, a policy control function (PCF) to provide a plurality of Quality of Service (QoS) levels for a session related to an application or a service; and requesting, by the AF, the PCF to configure the plurality of QoS levels, wherein a QoS flow is associated with a plurality of QoS profiles for configuring the plurality of QoS levels in response to the QoS flow being established.
Multi-connectivity restriction for services demanding single-path or single access
A method for restricting multi-connectivity functionality of a user equipment (UE) includes: storing a mapping table on a memory of the UE, wherein the mapping table provides assignment information about a respective single access mode assigned to a service requestable by the UE, wherein the respective single access mode is one of multiple access modes; receiving service information about a requested service via a network interface of the UE; comparing, by a process of the UE, the service information to entries of the mapping table, and selecting a single access mode assigned to the requested service; wherein the multi-connectivity functionality of the UE is restricted by: a bypass entity redirecting data traffic associated with the requested service directly to the selected single access mode; or a multipath scheduler scheduling data traffic associated with the requested service to a communication link that corresponds to the selected single access mode.
