Relay handover determination

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication that over come problems associated with conventional approaches including load balancing and handover efficiency issues. In one aspect a wireless communication technique takes into account the load of a donor gNB before a relay decides to reselect from one donor gNB to another. In another aspect, a wireless communication technique ensures that relays are handed over to base stations that will be able to serve the relay as the mobile relay continues to follow its expected path (e.g. streets or tracks).

Disclosed are a method and a device for group handover in a communication system. An operation method of a header terminal comprises the steps of: transmitting a configuration information message including a first indicator indicating a measurement reporting subject to member terminals participating in the sidelink groupcast communication; if the measurement reporting subject indicated by the first indicator is the header terminal, receiving, from the member terminals, measurement reporting messages including results of measurement operations performed for at least one neighboring base station; and transmitting a configuration reporting message including the results of the measurement operations to a serving base station accessed by the header terminal. Therefore, the performance of the communication system can be improved.

Disclosed is a method of operating a test system for over-the-air, OTA, testing of at least two mobile devices under test, DUTs. The at least two mobile DUTs have respective mobile subscriber identities, IMSIs. The method comprises simulating, by a mobile radio cell simulator connectable to the test system, a first mobile radio cell being open for attachment by all of said mobile DUTs, and attaching all of said mobile DUTs to the first mobile radio cell. The method further comprises simulating, by a mobile radio tester connectable to the test system, a second mobile radio cell being barred for attachment by said mobile DUTs. The method further comprises prompting, by the mobile radio cell simulator, one particular DUT of said mobile DUTs to perform a handover to the second mobile radio cell. The method further comprises subjecting, by the mobile radio tester, the particular DUT to an OTA test procedure within the second mobile radio cell. The method further comprises prompting, by the mobile radio tester, the particular DUT to leave the second mobile radio cell. The method further comprises indicating a status of the particular DUT subjected to the OTA test procedure.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COMMUNICATION IN VEHICLE BY ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Provided is an electronic device of a vehicle including a mobile communication module configured to transmit and/or receive data through a base station according to a first communication method based on a first frequency band, or a second communication method based on a second frequency band, and a control module configured to control an operation of the mobile communication module, wherein the control module is further configured to: determine whether there is a possibility of communication interruption with respect to the first communication method while data is being transmitted and received according to the first communication method through the mobile communication module, and, based on determining that there is the possibility of communication interruption, switch from the first communication method to the second communication method, and transmit and/or receive data, wherein the first frequency band is higher than the second frequency band.

Handover coordination for large area coverage

A method for performing a handover operation includes using one or more processors of a non-terrestrial node to initiate communication with a first terrestrial node of a network, the terrestrial node having a first unique node identifier and a cell identifier and store a mapping that associates the first unique node identifier with the cell identifier. The method also includes using the one or more processors to receive an indicator that the mapping is subject to change and update the mapping to associate a second unique node identifier of a second terrestrial node of the network with the cell identifier based on the received indicator.

Operating method of node in wireless communication system, and device using method

An operating method of a node in a wireless communication system, and a device using the method are provided. The method transmits a link instability signal notifying a child node of the instability of a link if the link with a parent node is unstable, monitors, during a connection recovery time, whether a link recovery signal is received from the parent node, and transmits, to the child node, a handover trigger signal if the link recovery signal has not been received within the connection recovery time.

Wireless communication service delivery responsive to user equipment (UE) handovers

In a wireless communication system, a Session Management Function (SMF) transfers signaling to a User Plane Function (UPF) to deliver a wireless data service to a wireless User Equipment (UE). The UPF exchanges user data with the wireless UE over a source Radio Unit (RU) to deliver the wireless data service. A Radio Resource Control (RRC) detects the RU handover of the wireless UE from the source RU to a target RU and transfers an RU handover notice for the wireless UE the SMF. The SMF transfers new signaling to the UPF to modify the wireless data service for the wireless UE. The UPF exchanges additional user data with the wireless UE over the target RU to deliver the modified wireless data service to the wireless UE.

GROUP HANDOVER METHOD AND APPARATUS

This application provides a group handover method. The method includes: A first terminal device receives first information from a first network device, where the first information indicates a first resource, the first resource is for carrying fourth information, the fourth information is cell handover information of a plurality of terminal devices, and the first terminal device is one of the plurality of terminal devices; and the first terminal device receives the fourth information on the first resource. This can reduce signaling overheads caused by cell handover of a plurality of users and improve resource utilization.

Communication apparatus and communication method

There is provided an apparatus comprising means for: translating between a first communication apparatus and a first wireless communication network operating as at least part of a bridge between the first communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus; determining that the first and/or second communication apparatus is undergoing or has undergone a mobility event; and executing at least part of a mobility procedure resulting from the mobility event.

HANDOVER METHOD AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

A handover method and a communication apparatus are provided. The method includes: A target access network device obtains a first message and information used for transmitting multicast data, where the first message is used for requesting to establish a resource for handing over a terminal device to the target access network device. The target access network device sends a second message, where the second message indicates the established resource on the target access network device; receives a first packet from a user plane network element, where the first packet corresponds to the information used for transmitting the multicast data; and sends the first packet to the terminal device. In this way, the terminal device is handed over from a source access network device to the target access network device when the terminal device receives the multicast data.
