The method includes reporting the L1-RSRP, the L1-RSRQ, and the L1-SINR of the at least one candidate cell. The method further includes receiving an L1/L2 signal to trigger a handover (HO) operation to the target cell, wherein the L1/L2 signal includes a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state switch to the target cell.

Optimizing Switching of Active Network Connection for a Terminal Device

A method comprising transmitting a configuration of a default time period, wherein the default time period is for allowing a terminal device to consider a request for leaving an active network connection to a first network as accepted by the first network if the first network does not send a response within that the default period, to the terminal device, receiving a first message, from the terminal device, indicating a request to leave the active network connection, determining an overriding condition that overrides the default time period for leaving the active network condition and transmitting, to the terminal device, a second message comprising the overriding condition.

TIMING ADVANCE ACQUISITION FOR NEIGHBOR CELLS
20230112574 · 2023-04-13 ·

A method of acquiring timing advance (TA) for neighbor cells to reduce latency and interruption for inter-cell mobility is proposed. A UE is configured with a set of active cells for fast cell-switching. A neighbor cell in the active set is likely to be UE’s target cell. To reduce handover interruption, the UE acquires and maintains the TA corresponding to the cells in the active set. The UE performs early RACH for potential target cells and obtains the TA of the potential target cells. Once the UE receives handover command indicating one of the active cells as target cell, the UE can complete the handover without performing RACH again.

COMMUNICATION METHOD APPLIED TO INTEGRATED ACCESS AND BACKHAUL IAB SYSTEM AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

A communication method applied to an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) system includes: a child node receives a first radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message from an access network device via a parent node, where the first RRC reconfiguration message includes a random access-free indication. The child node starts a timer. The child node sends a first RRC reconfiguration complete message to the access network device via the parent node. The child node receives first indication information from the parent node, where the first indication information indicates to stop the timer. The child node stops the timer.

METHOD AND DEVICE IN NODES USED FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

The present application discloses a method and a device in a node for wireless communications. A first node receives a first reference signal group to determine a first-type received quality group; maintains a second counter according to the first-type received quality group; and transmits a first signal. The first signal indicates a first reference signal; when a first counter is no larger than a first threshold, the first reference signal belongs to a first reference signal subset; when the first counter is larger than the first threshold, the first reference signal belongs to a second reference signal subset; a reference signal in the second reference signal subset does not belong to the first reference signal subset; as a response to a first condition set being satisfied, the first signal is triggered. The method above achieves rapid cross-cell beam switch, thus guaranteeing the service quality and avoiding ping-pong effect.

Apparatus and methods are provided for TA maintenance and acquisition for mobility with inter-cell beam management. In one novel aspect, the source TAG is maintained with the associated TAT running when cell switch is performed to switch from the source cell to a target cell and skips the RA procedure when a valid target TAG exists. In one embodiment, the target TAG is valid when there is the target TAG exists and a TAT of the target TAG is running. The UE performs a RA to the target when the UE determines that there is no TAG associated with the target or when a TAT of the target TAG expires. The source cell and the target cell belong to the same cell group or different cell group. In one embodiment, the UE performs a partial MAC reset and maintaining a TAT associated with the source cell.

Dual Active Protocol Stack Handovers Above 24 GHz

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing dual active protocol stack handovers in a frequency range above 24 GHz. A UE may transmit an indication to a base station indicating a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover capability of the UE corresponding to a frequency range (FR) above 24 GHz. The UE may receive, from a target cell of the one or more cells, a command to perform a DAPS handover from a source cell to the target cell. While performing the DAPS handover and maintaining a data connection with the source cell, the UE may perform measurements on the target cell followed by a physical random access channel (PRACH) procedure. The UE may then receive a source cell release command from the target cell and release the data connection with the source cell.
